Company Info

Originally Varta was known as Büsche & Müller and produced accumulators, a key component in batteries. It was a Varta accumulator that was used in the first American electric car in 1893. Fast forward more than 130 years, and Varta is still producing batteries for a wide range of application - everything from small disposable and rechargeable alkaline batteries for gadgets to lithium-ion home batteries for solar, and industrial energy storage solutions.

Varta Pulse

One of the Varta battery systems previously available in Australia was the Varta Pulse 6, which was an all-in-one German designed and manufactured system that used lithium manganese cobalt oxide chemistry. This offered 6.5kWh storage capacity and 2.3kW power output. This system did not have backup capabilities.

More Varta Pulse 6 specifications can be viewed on our solar battery comparison table - you can see how it stacked up on specs compared to other home solar batteries available in Australia.

The newer version of this battery is called the Varta Pulse Neo 6. Note that some of these batteries sold in Australia containing LG cells are subject to a recall that is still active in 2025. If you own a Varta Pulse home battery that isn't a "Neo" variant, it's still worth reading that page and entering its serial number here to check; just in case.

Warranty Information

Varta offered 7 years warranty on the inverter and 10 years on the battery pack for the Varta Pulse 6 in Australia.

Varta Solar Battery Reviews

Varta 6 battery seems to have a glitch.

Had the Varta battery for around 6 weeks now, and either it or the App that monitors the battery doesn't work.

As you can see in the pictures of the App, three days of data, the middle day was a fantastic clear sunny day and according to the App I got no storage or feed in at all, but the days either side I did.

The App has consistently been all over the place just like the pictures show, so who knows if the battery is working properly or not, or if it's just the App.

The installer (Tindo Solar) sent out a subcontractor for a look, but the battery was working on that day, so seem to think their is no problem.
Something is obviously wrong with it or at least the App, and if the App is useless how am I supposed to monitor the battery?

Overall not happy with the system or Tindo's customer service.
