Michael's Martifer Solar SA Panels Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

Whether Martifer Solar was a manufacturer or just supplied re-badged panels isn't clear. "Martifer" branded solar panels are no longer made and haven't been produced for many years.

Martifer Solar SA Panels: Pros & Cons

  • No longer a manufacturer (and perhaps never was).

About Martifer Solar SA

Martifer Solar was founded in 2006 as part of the Martifer Group, a Portuguese company established in 1990 operating in the renewable energy and metallic constructions industry.

Company Info

Martifer Solar was primarily focused on developing, licensing, building and operating wind and solar power assets, but apparently it produced solar panels too - or had another party manufacture them and then whacked their brand name on; which isn't an uncommon practice.

Martifer Solar grew into a multinational company based in Europe; with several offices and marketing branches in America, Africa, India, Japan and UAE (never Australia).

In 2012, Martifer Solar’s revenues reached 230.8 million euros and at that point, the company had implemented 500 MW of capacity globally. But the wheels soon started coming off the company. In early 2014, the parent firm announced the US subsidiary Martifer Solar USA has been declared bankrupt.

In 2016, French renewable energy developer Voltalia acquired Martifer Solar, which was integrated into its business. The Martifer web site is still active today, however it appears to contain a lot of unrelated spam content.

Martifer Solar Panels In Australia

One of their products for the Australian market was the MTS225P, a polycrystalline panel with a 225W output. Information on this model and others available here is hard to come by; and we weren't able to locate any warranty details.

So, whether any of their products installed here are still under warranty isn't clear. But if you have their panels and are experiencing problems, try to get in touch with the company you bought them from for warranty support. Failing that, try contacting Voltalia - and good luck!
