China's Hangzhou Amplesun Solar Technology was established in 2008, initially focusing on the the production of amorphous thin solar film modules.

Hangzhou Tianyu Solar Energy Co., Ltd. (AmpleSun) manufactured framed and frameless solar modules for use commercial, residential and utility scale situations that were sold in Australia, Southern Europe (mainly Spain and Italy) and in the Middle East, although the company did not have an Australian office.

Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall for thin-film solar, the company shifted from amorphous silicon to manufacturing monocrystalline silicon panels at the end of 2011, when it said it would have a total of 120MW annual production capacity.

The Amplesun website was live up until early 2024, but it appeared to have not been updated in many years and the company is no longer operating.

Amplesun Solar Panels In Australia

The only Amplesun panel we're aware of being available in Australia was the ASF100. This was a 100-watt panel measuring 1,414 x 1,114 x 35 mm and weighing 20.3 kilograms — so quite large and hefty for its capacity.

Warranty Details

The Amplesun ASF100 panel had a 5-year product warranty and 25-year performance warranty. If you have Amplesun panels and need to make a warranty claim, your only hope is if the local company that supplied/installed them is still around.

With the advancements in conventional silicon solar panels over the years, thin-film modules aren't a good choice for Australian residential solar installations and for the most part aren't available here anyway. Find out more about choosing solar panels.
