Michael's Eco Future Panels Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

Malaysian solar panel manufacturer Eco Future came and went from Australia in the space of just a few years in the 2010's, and then disappeared entirely for reasons unknown.

Eco Future Panels: Pros & Cons

About Eco Future

Eco Future was a Malaysia- based solar manufacturer that produced panels in the 200W - 330W range.

Company Info

ECO Future, or to use the full name - Eco Future Manufacturer Industry (Malaysia) SDN.BHD - was founded at the end of 2012. As well as solar panels, Eco Future made solar cells and offered PV power plant engineering services

By 2013, the company's production capacity was more than 100MW and its factory had two fully automated production lines. The company's panels were exported to countries including Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, USA, UK, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Greece and Australia.

It appears the company wound up operations around 2018 - at least that's when its website disappeared.

Eco Future Solar Panels In Australia

Panels manufactured by Eco Future were available in Australia in polycrystalline and monocrystalline formats; in all-black or silver frames. There wasn't anything particularly outstanding about them; although the firm committed to a 48-hour support response service. That was a positive aspect, but most manufacturer promises are of course only good for as long as the company is around.

Judging by the lack of information and feedback generally about their modules, it doesn't look as though they were installed in Australia in great quantities.

Warranty Information

Eco Future panels were accompanied by a 10-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty. The performance warranty promised the modules would retain 80.2% of their nameplate capacity by the end of year 25.

If you're having problems with your Eco Future solar panels, first try contacting the company that installed them. If they have also disappeared, see if you can determine which firm imported them (unfortunately, we don't have this information) as the importer is also on the hook for warranty issues. Beyond that - you're probably out of luck.
