As any owner of a solar power system will know, maximising the level of energy consumption from the panels is highly important.
After all, if you've invested in the technology then you want it to operate as efficiently as possible, right?
Well a new long-life lithium-ion battery system from Panasonic could do just that, as the company has announced it is going to start mass producing the product.
Panasonic has billed the battery as a solution for consumers who want to maximise how much usable energy is being generated by the solar panels on their rooftops.
The battery will help store this electricity and ensure it is discharged in a way that keeps up with consumer demand while also reducing the amount of energy sourced from the grid.
During peak hours, the battery can store excess solar energy and provide it to the systems' owners when demand is at its highest.
At the moment, this technology is only available to the European market, but if it is successful then there's no reason it couldn't make its way over to our shores in the future.
