Finn's Zeversolar Inverters Review & Verdict

Finn Peacock has been a Chartered Electrical Engineer since 1998, and is ex-CSIRO

Zeversolar was one of many solar manufacturers that had a presence in Australia to fall by the wayside over the years. But unlike some that simply vanished, at least the company committed to continue honouring warranties after it shut up shop.

Zeversolar Inverters: Pros & Cons

  • Company ceased business activities in late 2019

About Zeversolar

Zeversolar was a Chinese solar inverter manufacturer that once operated as a subsidiary of Germany's SMA.

Company History

Zeversolar (Jiangsu Zeversolar New Energy Co., Ltd) was established in China in 2007. In March 2013, Germany's SMA Solar Technology AG completed acquisition of a majority stake in the company, and from that point Zeversolar operated as a subsidiary of SMA.

But in December 2018, SMA announced a restructuring of its operations involving exiting China and selling its companies there. Then in December 2019, Zeversolar said it would cease business activities as of December 18, 2019.

We had a report that by late 2021, Zeversolar Cloud, the company's cloud based monitoring system, was no longer functioning.

Zeversolar Inverters In Australia

Zeversolar specialised in the production of single and three-phase solar inverters equipped with single or multiple MPPT inputs and with diverse power ranges.

For example, the Eversol TL series was designed for small residential applications, whereas the Evershine TLC and TL series were built for any kind of residential use.

Zeversolar’s Evershine TLC and Eversol TLC three-phase inverters were geared towards commercial users. For industrial applications, the company developed inverters from 500KW to 1MW in size (NSG series).

Warranty Info

Zeversolar offered a 5-year product warranty as standard that could be extended by another 5 years for an added fee.

When announcing the cease of business activities, Zeversolar said handling of service and warranty cases would continue. As the standard warranty was 5 years, that means at the time of updating this page (December 2024), just about all those warranties would have expired.

But if you have an extended warranty and are experiencing issues with your Zeversolar inverter, a claim can be submitted here. But first talk to your installer (if they are still around) as they are likely still the primary party responsible for warranty. The installer *may* be able to make a claim via SMA; as might you if your installer has disappeared too and the online claim process doesn't work out.

If you have a Zeversolar inverter out of warranty that's causing you problems, probably the best course of action is to not bother trying to get it repaired - just buy a new inverter. Prices of inverters have dropped in recent years and you can pick up a brand-spanking new good budget inverter relatively cheaply these days.

So far no major issue with the inverter. The indicated output is usually around 3.5 kw (quoted 5 kw system) when the sun is in the most optimal position.

After insulation we had initially some outages and we were only generating around 2.5Kw on a 3Kw system, but since the end of winter our north facing panels have been producing consistently around 2.997 Kw at its peak from mid morning to mid afternoon

Geelong solar explained as / what they installed so I went in with eyes open ,with concise and clear knowledge on what inverter I was getting ..inserted .

Free app lets you keep an eye on your inverter plus providing reports and alarms for problems. Also available through your windows based computer.
Inverter is installed in the garage adjacent to the power board so it's ideal for also keeping an eye on it as you can clearly see the panel when getting in the car, and its out of the weather.
Inverter sends a monthly report showing daily output along with error reports, if any exist, to your email address . Only ones I've had have been loss of AC when the distributor has gone off (twice).

Until the Zeverlution 3000s software upgrade was sent through about a month ago, I was having problems with the inverter. These problems would occur during the middle part of the day when it reached high input amps. The inverter would cut out and go through its 60 seconds rebooting process, sometimes continually. This particularly was a problem on days of fluctuating sunshine, when the bright sunshine came through the high cloud. I understand that since the software has been upgraded Zeversolar have allowed the inverter to cycle over the original set input amps.

The graphs, data and emails from being connected via wifi to the Zevercloud are useful.

All working as expected with no problems or issues since installation. In mid January our peak output was 4.65kW and near mid winter on a clear day we are still getting 3.6kW.

Not sure how to rate an inverter, in the absence of fancy test gear. (I assume that the industry is now mature and that reliability is now good for most devices.)

Had this installed in Nov 2018. The app is crap - which is very annoying if you are trying to understand the way your household uses electricity. Beginning to wish I purchased a better brand... The App is very basic and does not look anything like the App shown on the various websites.

Moved into our house in October 2019. We received a big bill the first three months from Origin because they say they didn’t receive the paper work.
The inverter has been down since the 20th of Jan 2021 without any warning to us.
This wasn’t detected until I saw the panel not lit up on the 18th of Feb 2021.
After a few phone calls to Bradfords and CSR support still no confirmation on when it will be repaired or replaced.
Had we of known they we closing there business in December 19 we would have gone with another supplier.

Installed a 3KW system in 2015 and it is still working well. The monitoring unit (PMU) died June 2020. Tried to contact ZeverSolar - IMPOSSIBLE, Managed to get a new PMU but it will not link with Zevercloud App like the old one did. Where to go for help?

I paid for sungrow and was duped with a zeversolar. Being naive, I didn't twig till the inverter broke, by which time so had the provider, baseline energy. Cannot reach any of the board contacts. Still trying in vain thus far to contact a zeversolar service office.

The inverter software cloud solution is horrible and it will not route properly via my internet connection to upload data. There is no other easy way to snatch the data no CSV / XML etc. You cannot do much without the cloud upload solution.
I never really see my inverter go above 4.8kw however its 5kw and there is enough panels to get it up there .

4.5 KW Panels with 5 KW Zeversolar inverter installed in Dec 2015. Inverter failed ~Dec 2018 but did not notice it until a high power bill was received in Apr 2019. Did not have WiFi monitoring. Warranty claim took until Jun to replace the unit. Replacement unit was a refurbished inverter with an extremely sun faded and scratched face plate. Also found the original installation did not run enough DC cables from panels to the inverter so that was fixed under warranty as well. Sold the house in Jul 19 so don't know how it is performing now, but will go with a premium brand in this next house.
