Canadian Solar was founded in 2001 in Ontario and went public in 2006. The company has a really strong international presence thanks to offices and warehouses located in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Japan, Israel, South Africa, U.A.E, Spain, Italy, Germany and Australia.
The manufacturing lines, however, are located only in Canada and China, and have an overall yearly capacity of 3.5 GW in solar modules and panels with an output power between 13 and 305 Wp. Furthermore, the company produces and markets PV wafers, cells, ingots, and inverters and, thanks to substantial investments of more than 600 million USD, it can count on more than 200 patents and important partnerships with DuPont, ECN, and NREL.
Canadian Solar is fully vertically integrated, meaning that it can undertake any stage of the production process, from procurement to production and from installation to post-sale assistance.
Every Canadian Solar’s product is ISO 9001, QC 080000, ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949, and OHSAS 18001 certified.
