Great experience

The quoting process was very detailed providing a quote for three different sized inverters. The installers were on time and did a great job. Western Elec organised the inspector following installation and organised connection to the grid. Great service and after sales support.

Fantastic installer

Sales and quoting process was pretty simple with all three providing comparable prices.

Good price, good service, no issues

Good price, changed to a higher grade inverter which they offered at minimal upgrade cost, good communication, on time installation, clean well fitted finish, & no complaints.

Professional, Neat and a Lovely Bloke to Boot!

Tom (Western Elec) has recently installed an 11kw system on our metal roof in Port Melbourne. His online tools made the whole process really simple. He responded quickly to any questions we had, and managed all the 'paperwork' electronically, ensuring that we received our government rebates quickly. He has done a really professional/neat job installing the panels and inverter. His price was very competitive. He came when he said we would and completed the job in the two days he planned for the job. And he's just a lovely young bloke to boot! What more could you ask!

No hassles provider

Everything went very well. From quote to call out and measure, requote, All the paperwork was organised very quickly and smoothly. They were punctual, very polite and everything was cleaned up. Highly recommended them . The system is working really well.

Trustworthy and excellent service

We were initially unsure if we should use Western Elec as our solar installer, considering they have the least online reviews from the other 2 companies we got the quotes from. A call from Michael erased the uncertainty. Instead we received strong commitments without any sales gimmick, which was very different from the others. The honest consultations and easy communication provided assurance to our choice.
On the day of installation, Michael and Tom arrived not only on time, but also acted with professionalism and courtesy. The whole process including rebate application was stress free. Thank you to Michael and Tom.
If you are thinking about having them install your solar system, my recommendation is yes. The numbers of online reviews or age of a company is unimportant, the trustworthy and excellent service is what matters.

Very professional

I used SolarQuotes to get quotes for my daughter and her partner’s house in Werribee, Vic. Had already arranged for solar panels and inverter for another of our children, so knew exactly which panels and inverter we wanted (SolarQuotes is such a great resource). Of the three quotes, one came back which included the Vic Government interest free loan to reduce the quote, which seemed a bit dodgy (and they were still the most expensive). The cheapest quote came from a large ( ish) Melbourne firm with mostly good reviews, but some very bad ones. Reading between the lines, I’m guessing the quality of the installation depended on the crew who was assigned to install. The quote coming from Western Elec was the last to come in, and was about $500 more expensive than the cheapest quote. They only had a handful of reviews on Solar Quotes, but all were 5 star. When I spoke to the co-owner he said that they were a Werribee based business, and it was just them and their partner who did the installation. I explained that the house had a tiled roof and my daughter didn’t have any spares. No problems, they would swing past to check the roof, and source any if required. Then there was an issue with the local electricity supplier about feeding electricity back into the grid. They sorted that issue as well. They turned up on the agreed day at the agreed time. Did an excellent job on the installation and didn't leave ANY mess. Would highly recommend.

Tom and Michael were on time the day of installation, they explained what they were going to do and to my surprise and pleasure they were going to do the installation themselves!! The result is a very satisfactory job and now I am in contact with a company that is efficient and competent. I could not recommend Western Elec. more highly.

I decided to go with a 13.2 kW system On the day the boys were here early had the system fitted within two days promptly and the cleaners Trademan I have seen for a long time

Hassle free quote and installation

From day one Western Elec had a professional down to earth manner that made the whole process from quote to installation a breeze. They submitted all the Solar administration requirements on my behalf and kept me informed of all the steps in the process with no hassles or drama.

The day of the installation was seemingly effortless - they consulted with me on the best position for the inverter and the solar panel arrangement on the roof to ensure we maximising full sunlight and they even added several more panel optimisers in a shaded area free of charge.

Flawless

Extremely happy with the boys at Western Elec! In my initial stages of gathering solar quotes, I found Michael to be the most professional (with no pushy sales calls). Quote was issued in a very timely manner and follow up emails were attentive and informative.

The installation was flawless and it was clear they take great pride in their work. They went above and beyond to hide all cable work and were very conscious to have the panel array perfectly centred. I’ve already recommended Western Elec to family and friends and will personally be using them again in the future.

Solid Quality Installer. A+

The team at Western Elec have done a fantastic job with our solar rooftop installation.
Tom was knowledgeable and thoughtful during the requested site inspection, answering questions and accommodating requests whilst ensuring our overall goals were still being achieved.

Installation was prompt without being rushed and completed by the team within a day without issue. Aesthetically, the system was installed beautifully, with minimum visual disturbance to the building; the inverter was neatly and thoughtfully positioned, with tidy cabling and conduits installation, and the solar panel arrays look great from all visible angles.

In the weeks following installation, the system has performed very well to date, consistently generating power above estimations despite being Winter. We can partially attribute this to the team's advice and guidance during the design of our system.
First-class service and quality all round, with no hesitations to recommend to others.

I cannot express how happy I am with Tom and Michael. From the get go, an extremely informative site visit and thorough explanations on the whole process. I did so much due diligence as I wanted a massive system but most importantly, to be executed professionally. Tom and Michael certainly did not disappointment. Excellent installer, highly recommend

Extremely happy with our solar installation, it has been up and running for a few months now. Michael was fantastic to deal with from quote to installation. Compared to other installers, I found him to be more thoughtful with the quotes, and genuine with sound knowledge and experience (as he does both the design and installation).
High quality service and installation overall - I highly recommend them.

The quoting process was painless.

Tom was happy to answer all my concerns promptly via telephone and email.
I was asked to submit photos of my meter and my prefered location for the inverter and when I explained my future solar needs i was given options on different size systems to suit.

We decided on a 11kw system

Tom visited my home to inspect the site so there was no suprises.

On installation day the guys were on time and worked very hard to get the job done and the work was very neat with no broken tiles and finished on the day.

The electrical inspector is booked in to inspect the job tomorrow!

Great support, quality workmanship

I have decided to install rooftop solar after ordering my first EV. I'm living in a townhouse with ca. 55sqm of roof - with multiple split system units and satellite dish, the usable space for panels was much lower.
I have sourced quotes from 5 installers - Western Elec crew were the only ones who came to do on-site inspection, with the rest relying on satellite images (plus my more detailed plans of the roof, access, etc.).
I like to do my own research - side effect being plethora of questions, and design changes. Tom has always been available to answer my email, talk, and to provide updated quote.
There were couple of firsts for him as well - for example installation of EV charger that I pre-purchased with the car and use of scissor lift to access the roof.
None of the above has been a problem, even removal and disposal of old satellite dish.
The installation took place two weeks after signing the contract. The crew were on time, and even the weather (raining on and off) did not phase them. Installation was completed within the day and I cannot be happier with the quality of workmanship and performance of the crew.
They were also always happy to respond to any follow-up questions I had.
Overall, very pleased with the whole process - from site visit, through installation, to aftercare.
Highly recommended.

Excellent and Friendly Western Elec

Really happy with the quality install Western Elec did -
Was one of the few who would come out to site to have a look when quoting.
The install day went smoothly and everything was left neat and tidy.
Grid connection process took a few weeks but not at the fault of Western Elec, the inspection check was quickly organised and we had a delay with Momentum energy but once up and running weve been very happy.

Great installers, I highly recommend you talk with them about your solar install

Western Elec gave us nicely detailed quotes, they preemptively sent through several options at various Kw sizes without spending too much time with us trying to discuss why to move to a larger system like other more pushy retailers. Instead , their quotes included designs and fully detailed quotes and thinking behind why to choose various options. We really appreciated that.

Western Elec quoted amongst the best priced systems. We opted for a larger 13Kw system than the original 6Kw we had originally contemplated based upon the reasonable pricing.

The install team of 2 were not only on time, but worked fast and did an amazing job. Maybe this is an industry of tough workers, but I have personally never seen a team work so hard across both extreme physical and technical areas and accomplish so much in one day.

The install is very neat and the conduit-lines are all sealed very nicely, so the inverter and panels really don't adversely affect the look of the property.

We have been generating more power than we need with this system, and thanks to the Western Elec team for explaining how to manage and read the GoodWe HomeKit monitor, we can see that on most days we export a consistent 5Kw to the grid (the max we are allowed) while covering all of our own power consumption needs. Really comforting to be able to see all this data live.
I would recommend setting up a seperate or guest WiFi prior to a GoodWe inverter installation, having your wifi network setup ready for your installer will save you time and give the team an easier/faster setup for you.

While the team are always busy working on a roof somewhere, they always took my calls.
I'd recommend Western Elec if you are looking to install Solar on your property.

Great communication. Neat installation

Western Elec provided the most thorough, thought out and competitive quote for installation of my solar.
Once booked in, the process was explained and the team was always on time.
The installation was completed quickly and neatly and all my questions and concerns were answered well.
After the install I had further question and they were addressed quickly, even coming to my house to upgrade the monitoring system.
I would highly recommend Western Elec to anyone.
