About

Established in 2007, UNLTD Solar is a WA owned and operated company, and is a division of the UNLTD Energy Group that operates across the areas of solar power, wind power, technology, and sustainability consulting. The company says that each member of its highly qualified senior management team carries an average of 20 years’ experience. The company is active in the fields of commercial and residential solar installations. UNLTD says that it recommends and uses Suntech and Solyndra panels and SMA inverters. They say that they also can install Solyndra cylindrical modules which they say will generate significantly more solar electricity per rooftop, per year.

The company also says that its installers all have government accreditation, and that they are trained to meet the company’s ‘best practice’ performance standards as agreed in the company’s quality assurance programme. They say that they have installed thousands of renewable energy systems throughout WA, and that their systems are covered by extensive quality and performance warranties.

Customer testimonials for UNLTD Solar are available, and include the following:

“ I found UNLTD Solar by far the best company in Perth, from our first inquiry, to the day of installation. Everything was done very professionally. Also the product they use is far superior to their cheaper competitors; plus they are the preferred installers for Synergy. I’m a very happy customer.”

“ All in all I’d recommend UNLTD Solar. Very knowledgeable, excellent customer service, great value for money.”

“ I am amazed at the quality, service, and the ‘extra’ customer service provided. Five star rating!”

I dealt with Brad Solar and everthing was good. I decided to go with a company who was referred to my by a friend due to being inexperienced with Solar Panels.

All in all I had 5 quotes inclusive of the company that was recomended by this site i.e Austec Unfortunately the sales person who came did not have his file with him as he had left it at the orevious clients house. I'd imagine that the products they carry are good nevertheless but I'm sorry the other 4 companies that came were much more professional and have very competitive products/prices.

I find that most products do go head to head. I was torn between SolarHarness and Unltd Solar and decided to go with the latter. Installation was done in 1.5 hours (due to rain) and the installers are very quick and professional and lead installer is an electrician himself so system are connected and working from the get go. I have heard that some installers do not have certified electrician to connect the system but I didn't have that as a personal experience. All in all I'd recomend Unltd Solar. Very knowledgable, excellent customer service, great value for money.

I chose UNLTD Solar because they are recommended by Synergy and by our Council, and because they have very good technical specifications.

Had 4 quotes and chose unltd solar, because of the salesmans skills, also the company is well known and has installed several large systems such as Murdoch Uni, and is about to install the Perth Arena system.. They also work with Synergy. They were not the lowest quote.

UNLTD Solar are "in Partnership" with Synergy our WA electricity retailer. I interpreted this to give them a level of credibility over some other suppliers.

Their 190 watt Suntech panels and SMA 3000TL inverter appear to be soundly engineered and reputed to be of good manufacture. These same products were offered by other suppliers at around the same price but I chose to go with UNLTD Solar because of their link to Synergy.

The system has not yet been installed so I can't give any first hand feedback on performance at this stage.

Sad to say, but of the few people I did approach, the company we chose to deal with was the only one who responded favourably. Each of the other likley candidates had 3 chances to return phone calls or emails but failed on that basic test.

I found unltd solar by far and away the best company in Perth from our first inquiry to the day of installation. Everything was done very professionally. Original installation was not installed on north facing roof as contracted instead installer used north east facing roof and placed 2x6 panels with gap in between. Why I do not know, looks funny and must be less eficient than placing together as high on the roof as possible.

Very happy with Solar install, there was only one complaint and that was waiting for solar panels to arrive in the country. The lack of Panels put a 3 month delay on install date.

I didn't appreciate the demands to have all the money paid up front before any work was done to install the system. That is not a good way to do business or engender customer confidence.

The sales person was very helpful and came back a couple of times to go through everything again and answer more questions I had. Wasn't pushy into getting the system and knew what he was selling.

Went for a 2.7Kw system in the end by adding an extra 2 panels.

This company was originally recommended to me by members of my family. Very happy with the service provided.

I've learnt that consumer should ask the Solar installer the question of whether they will be liable of damages prior signing the contract i.e. broken roof tile caused by solar installation and will they be liable to replace it.

solar power is still a minefield for the client all the vendors claim to have the best system i feel the Fed Govt should give ratings for the various manufacturers, after all its public money being spent and they should ensure they (the govt.) is getting value for money i would bet that in the next few years a lot of debate over this will take place.
am waiting installation due to hold ups with synergy and panel supply problems , installation promised early june 2010
