About

SolarSA is a South Australian sales, consultation and installation company for solar power products and accessories. They specialize in the field of solar energy, and they say that they have a background in electrical engineering going back to 1978. The company says that its mission is to make solar energy accessible to everyone.

SolarSA is a Clean Energy Council of Australia (CEC) member and the company says that it has an unsurpassed engineering team to design business and residential solar power systems to the highest standards. They say that their installers are highly trained and are certified as CEC accredited. They also say that they offer a comprehensive consultancy service for large and small solar projects; and will follow up with the necessary paperwork and after sales service.

Yes, since installing solar we have had credits. They are not huge credits, but credits none the less. They even worked well during the winter months!

Not installed yet. Due date is late January 2011 or so.
Service is very professional and level of knowledge is high.

No, it is much better than ever expected. Power cost is ZERO since installation.

Went with SolarSA as they were the most experienced Company of the quotes I got.

Unfortunately the original system design by the salesman was not possible due to insufficient pace on North facing roof and after being given an installation date was told on the morning of that day that they still had to work out how to do it. This resulted in waiting another month for installation (with a couple of rainy day appointments canceled). Installation was redesigned facing East but an extra Solar panel was put in at 1/2 price resulting in a 1.92 kW system.

So main problem was waiting well over 2 months for installation.

Installation was well done and after the first few days I am very happy with the performance of the system. Original ratings

Too many companies, too many panel manufactures and too many inverters to choose from making it confusing as to what to select. Most companies state "German technology" use for the inverters and USA or the like for panels. However, just about everything offered is made in China or India.

The SolarSA sales rep was the only one out of the three that actually got onto the roof and measured. He also was very frank about how efficient the proposed solar system would be given I had one palm tree that could affect (the palm will be coming down soon). He even met me in the city to sign off the paperwork and was very helpful with information. All the paperwork arrived accordingly from the installers were professional, even helping replacing a cracked tile and explaining to me what they had done once the installation was complete.

Some suppliers offer lower wattage panels and this increases the surface area requirements (roof area) to fit them all on. This could present a real problem if you have a small roof area aligned with the sun. I have noticed a lot of panels are now China Supplied and the quality is not well known so I opted to buy from SolarSA for a proven supplier from Germany.

Can't say I enjoyed the experience. None of the sales guys who came out to do quotes - invested me with any sense of confidence. Conflicting advice about what we could/should have - trying to compare the different quotes in a meaningful way - in the end we just wanted to get it over and done with.

Both companies were comparable. Quoting staff on time, efficient, more than happy to answer any questions that were asked. Both followed up from quoting. Delivery was approx 8 weeks from accepting quote.

I called one of your recommended suppliers; arranged an appointment, I waited for an hour called the representative at Solar Wholesaler to be advised he had overbooked his appointments, therefore not able to attend.

I received no call to advise of time delay nor an apology or a suggestion for an alterative time.

Your website provided two contacts in the area-only one responded and provided a verbal quote on details given by me. I had done some research before hand ,asked friends about their systems and who they used etc. so I was semi-informed just needed to find out the finer details about rates etc. I had also run out of time to be available on-site for quotes .(we were also looking at insulation) In the end we just bit the bullet so to speak and went with the company offering a good quality system ,that would suit us right now and be of benefit in the years to come. We are very pleased with the product,it is unobtrusive and it is already saving us money and the environment.
