Knowledgeable, professional and great service
Sam come out and give me a quote on a solar upgrade, I was going from a 10 year old 1.5kW system that was at the end of the 10yr high feed in tariff contract with Synergy. Sam was very knowledgeable and was very pleasant to chat to and go over the options on what would give me the best upgrade.I work in the IoT field so connectivity and monitoring was of interest to me, after doing some research I found that the Huawei Inverter was going to provide me with a good solution on that front. Sam was able to demonstrate the monitoring to me when he came around to visit. I went with their single phase 5kW inverter which was installed in the same location where my old inverter had been installed, this included replacing the old isolation switches.
Due to the way the feed in tariffs now pay slightly higher during peek period (3pm to 9pm) I was advised that we should split the panel installation into two strings, one North facing and another that is West facing to get the last of the sunlight in the day. The feed in tariffs are small compared to 10 years ago but the key benefit is actually using the power generated and maximising the time we are generating is important to achieving this.
Overall the install was neat and I'm getting very good results from my 17 390W Trina VertexS panels and 5kW Huawei inverter. I can monitor the output generated and can see via the Synergy portal what I'm consuming from the grid and what is being fed back to the grid.
I found most other solar companies pushy in their sales approach, even to the point of sending through emails outlining a bunch of things they do on their installs that they claimed others wouldn't, the truth being that in order to be compliant all the things they listed are also done by any reputable installer. I was able to confirm with Sam that all of those things listed were actually things they'd just do normally with any install.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sola Power to others, regardless of the inverter/panels choice I'm confident Sam would recommend what is the best fit for your circumstances. Their pricing was very competitive and that together with how knowledgeable and helpful Sam was during the sales process it was an easy choice. Sam even coming out to see the install the next day and talk to Huawei about changing some settings after noticing via the monitoring that it didn't seem to be performing correctly, a quick phone call and it was remotely rectified.

Excellent and honest approach
Despite having to contend with unpredictable rainy weather, the installation team arrived punctually, completed half of the work and had to postpone to another day owing to steady downpours. On the second day they completed the job, leaving the site tidy, and helped me achieve internet access to ongoing reports on system function and output. Sola Power liaised with Western Power to modify metering and turn on 3-phase current seamlessly and with no inconvenience to my household.Inverter rating: 4/5
