As an early adopter of change, our founders pivoted toward creating a full-service field force that specialised in providing turnkey end-to-end energy efficiency solutions for homeowners and businesses that were ahead of its time.

Poor after sales service
The quoting process and installation was fine and all the above issues were met in a timely and pleasant manner.However the after sales service has been almost non existent. My first phone call was promptly returned.
On October 27 our inverter disconnected from Wi-fi. Of course we did not understand why and the repercussions thereof, so I phoned SGS at 7.52am and left a message. With no response to my call I phoned again at 11.01 to the mobile and at 11.38 to landline no. I was understandably anxious. My calls were returned at 12.06 pm and clearly not well received. I was told that "I told you I would always get back to you. If you expect me to keep coming out to you there will have to be charges involved. I took this as a veiled threat and am reluctant to call again. I had not asked or expected him to come out to me; I was just after some explanation. He sent me a link to reconnect, but despite many many attempts this did not happen. I let him know this and he said he would send someone around that day. He later sent a text to say they had had a big day and would not be coming. The next day the inverter was up and running again and was described as a "glitch". On November, I advised that the inverter again disconnected from the Wi-f and that once again that I had followed the instructions to reconnect but again could not effect reconnection. He contacted me on Monday and said someone would come around that morning and I told him I was not home till after 1.00pm. Still have not had any follow up.
I decided to put in an enquiry direct to Goodwe. And when doing this on or about 18 or 19/11 I went out to check the Serial no and discovered that the inverter was again disconnected from Wi-fi. 3 times in this short period of time signals more that a "glitch". Particularly as everything else was still connected.
If I don't get a favorable response from Goodwe, my next step will have to be Fair Trading/Obudsman. I have paid out good money and don't think my expectations are too high.
To add insult to injury before the installation I enquired about a Sungro inverter but was told they were not available in 3 phase which I later found out was incorrect. No happy Jan.

Hello to everyone.A well worded review of which i can agree with almost everything that she is saying except for the after sales service & the sungrow 3 Phase inverter the costing difference of nearly $800 between the Sungrow and the Goodwe is the main reason this inverter was not used. A system was removed and a complete new 6.6kw system with a 3phase inverter for $5495 a very competitive price. Of which if I was told that the wifi connection was life and death situation seeings that the existing system had none then I would of offered other options of clarity. Also due to the weekend calls and texts on most of these wifi dropout issues we could not attend on weekends due to our family lifes, along with availability with the client on weekdays did not work The client Quote "If you expect me to keep coming out to you there will have to be charges involved. I took this as a veiled threat and am reluctant to call again. I had not asked or expected him to come out to me; I was just after some explanation" Well we gave and explanation as per below but this does not seem to be good enough. The Goodwe inverter is still a great inverter and everytime Bev called us the Wifi was back on line within a 24hour period reconnecting all by itself, it is not as if the system had stopped working at all. Unfortunately her Wifi Modem and the Inverter Wifi dongle seem to have a problem & dropout frequently. We are not computer technicians or Modem experts and the only way that I can see this dropout from not happening is to hard wire the inverter from the Modem to Inverter to stop the dropouts which again would cost more money, and i would get a computer expert to do the work and set the system up on her laptop not us , not to mention if the communication between the clients modem and Inverter becomes a problem after doing that I would be shot.
We are always happy to receive calls from our clients to help explain the above and then leave it to them to work out the next step. We welcome Bev's call and look forward to any assistance we can offer Bev into the future and life of her system. The review we have received is very critical about 1 item the wifi and I am sure that as I have mentioned to Bev Goodwe will have no answers for this problem with her Wifi as not even Optus gets it right all the time.

SGS Electrical Excellent Solar Installers
I highly recommend using SGS Electrical for your Solar installation. I obtained 5 quotes from different suppliers and Glen was by far the most helpful, professional, and competitive. He offers the best quality products, and several options for consideration. Glen explains very well in plain English that is easy to understand. He does what he says he will do, kept me informed at every stage, was always available for phone calls, texts, or by email. The customer service is excellent. The installers were also professional and friendly, cleaning up after themselves and explaining how the system works. We are very confident that we got quality products at a competitive price through an honest and trustworthy operator giving good old fashioned service.Supplier Reply:

Great service highly recommend

Great system, wonderful service
SGS Electrical were wonderful to deal with. Glen was professional and knowledgeable and provided outstanding customer service.The team at SGS that installed my system were extremely experienced and completed the job with a high level of workmanship.
Glen went the extra mile on my job by working with me to design the best layout and positioning of my panels and also by sourcing additional roof tiles should any become damaged during installation. In the end we didn’t need them but the fact that he understood my concerns put my mind at ease.
I highly recommend SGS Solar.

Awesome team and excellent customer service
I recently had solar panels installed and the team at SGS Electrical were were amazing.They turned up when they said they would for the quoting process at a time that was suitable to me.
During the installation they were very professional and communicated throughout the entire process.
My electrical cabling was a bit more complex than the average job, but the team left everything very clean and tidy. They organised everything including the grid connection after installation. I can only speak highly of SGS Electrical.
8 months later we asked Robyn: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
Very happy with my solar installation - haven't had to pay anything on my electricity bills as yet - 9 months on and still in credit.02 December 2021
Great job
Wow what a great bunch of blokes I wasn’t sure what I needed when I started to look but, these guys helped explain it all and then gave me a great deal on a 12.7kw battery ready system, and when it came to the install the blokes were great even fixing a few broken tiles, even with shit weather they did what they could and worked in between the weather it took an extra day because the rain was pissing down but that was explained.I would definitely recommend these blokes

Customer service is good and paperwork for follow up contacts was punctual. Had a few problems with roof leaking, and follow up has been excellent

Absolutely wonderful
It was great to work with the SGS team - special call out to Dewayne who kept me updated at all steps through out the process and was transparent with next steps too. The SGS team did phenomenal effort and provided a clean handover at the end. All of this while I was not even on-site for the installation.Inverter rating: 5/5

Panels look great, all black blends good on our roof. Good tradesmen, very happy with their service.
Sales quoting good, Installation all of the above. Yes they helped with grid connection after install.We did not get quotes from the 4 you suggested, only two of them. They were all good but we had to choose only 1 and that was SGS Electrical.

Our solar adventure begins
Can definitely recommend Sun Gods Solar. Glenn was on the phone the next day to discuss our system and was only to happy to visit our property. We ended up going with a larger system than first anticipated as we had the room and the price was competitive. Installation was booked in for the following week and all went smoothly. The install team were professional, friendly and provided a great looking setup. Follow up visit from Ryan to run through the docs etc was again professional and helpful. We are now just waiting for the grid connection.18 January 2021
Customer Service won the day
Right from the get go SGS Electrical were awesome to deal with. They were prompt and professional providing us with clear options and were transparent around costs. One of the solar companys we comtacted didnt even get back to us. Having done research via Solar Quotes we were, I wouldnt say all over it but we were confident enough so to speak to know what we wanted. With that in mind any questions we asked or changes we wanted were acted on promptly by SGS Electrical. They were excellent to deal with and not once did we feel any pressure from them to go with their quote or any particular product they offered. They were clear with all their communications so the whole process was easy to grasp and therefore stress free! Installation was great. The SGS Electrical guys were fine and just got on and done the job. Look initially we started corresponding with SGS Electrical because they were the quickest to reply to our requests. I mean we well into it before we heard from others. We got a quote from an outside source also and that one was just not going to fly. But we think we lucked out because they were excellent and I would recommend SGS Electrical to anyone wanting to use them.06 January 2021

Owner was very knowledgable. My toughest decision was which combination of inverter and panels was best for my house - they gave excellent advice and weren't pushy.Install was within two weeks and workers were very professional.

Great Value
The whole process was easy, response from suppliers was quick and simple. We eventually chose Sun Gods Solar as they were easy to deal with and great value for money, professional in their approach and tidy and efficient with the installation.Am very happy with our decision and want to also than Finn for the initial assistance and providing 3 quotes from reputable operators.

Of the 3 quotes Sun gods replied same day, SAE 5 days later and then confused the appointment times twice, Hawkings solar finally contacted me for a quote a week after it had already been installed.Sun gods were clearly miles ahead on service and price, they also did my neighbours place too and he had the same experience.

I have had an inssue with the inverter (Sungrow) as it derates or shutdown on a frequent basis. Sungods solar have been out twice to investigate and are now looking to replace on warranty. Communication with Sungrow (in Sydney) is a bonus. It is due to be changed as per last correspondence but that to date is yet to be done. So far service and call back is good, waiting on the next stage. I have a 10 year warranty on the inverter also.Supplier Reply:

Yes.We have shifted as much power load to daytime as possible and actively monitor system output.
Power draw went from 25kwh per day down to 5 meaning huge savings on power bills. System will pay for itself in around 2.5 years. That's 40% ROI.

Although I got the system early July, I received a bill mid August. no mention of solar being installed no feed in no difference to bill. all agencies say someone else lost paperwork or didn't follow through. hopeful all will clear up in due course. hard to tell if it's been worth until then9 months later we asked Ben: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
yes. reduced my power bills by heaps, ran air con all through summer and power bill was still only $200 per quarter.08 May 2017

David has asked me to take a photograph of the inverter display when this problem occurs again and email it to him. So now my weekend is spoken for waiting for this intermittent fault to occur.

Bob had an Existing system with 2 Different Inverters and wanted to increase the size of his system and only have one Inverter. A sungrow Inverter and extra Panels were priced for Bob. Bob's system is currently under the old Rebate scheme where he receives 44c + 8c for any extra power feed back into the Grid (FIT), so it was very important that his agreement for the FIT (Feed In Tariff) did not change nor for him to be at any risk of losing this FIT. The Sungrow at the time came with a 4.6kw AC Output which was crucial to comply with his Energex Agreement. Bob was followed up after the Initial quote a couple of times to see if we had won the job and eventually we did after answering all the above details in full which by this time a few weeks had passed. In that time that passed before being awarded the job a new standard had been issued for Compliant Inverters which now made the Sungrow 4.6kw AC Output raise to 4.99kw AC Output which would of put his FIT At risk hence the reason for the Inverter Change to a Growatt which maintained the 4.6 AC Output with the new Compliance Changes. in Short the job was a Pain because his Existing Panels also did not Comply with the new standards and we had to Redo the Wiring On those Panels as well which are some 4 Years old and which was not priced for. There is nothing wrong with his system which still pumps out on a sunny day around 25 to 30kW on a Split roof Orientation but he obviously does not believe us, because the Inverter Drops Up and Down so we even gave him the Tech Number for the Inverter to talk to a Qualified person Himself but according to him it is still wrong. We are here always to service Bob's Queries and should the Inverter need replacing under the Warranty Period we will assist him in Replacing it. I think the clients comments are very unfair and the whole story has not been given.Regards,
