Great Install, Easy to deal with

SAE installers were on-time and efficient, the panels look great and the system works exactly as advertised.
There was a cracked panel that they could not install on the day but returned the next week to complete the job.
The team was very polite and got the job done.

Fantastic installer, great system

The sale representative from SAE group Mark was excellent from start to finish, guided myself through the whole process from systems to installation. If i had any questions Mark had the answer.

System that was installed was 13.2kw system with 10kw fronis inverter.

Would definitely use SAE for their experience and unbeatable prices.

Poor after sales service

My Fronius Gen24 inverter, installed by SAE Tweed Heads late last year has not been functioning properly for a number of weeks. Attempts to get SAE to address the issue have proved fruitless. My recent correspondence with them has gone answered. I had similar problems with the WattPilot EV charger they installed – after sales service practically non-existent.

Original Review on 11-09-2023:

A very interesting and ultimately pleasing experience

I augmented an existing 3Kw SG3KTL-S Sungrow inverter and 12 x 250w GCL panels with a 5Kw SG5.ORS Sungrow inverter and 16 x 410w Sunpower SPR-P6-410-BLK panels plus a Catchpower relay with power diversion to a solar hot water system. Monitoring with both iSolarCloud App and the Catchpower Monocle App. Monocle App shows combined production, load and export. ISolarCloud shows combined production but no load or export cos no consumption meter on the old 3Kw system

The designer was experienced, polite, knowledgeable, patient and flexible. Everything I needed but, despite me measuring the available roof dimensions prior to design finalisation and signing the contract, the panels didn’t fit on the day of installation.

The very experienced installer rearranged the layout onsite to give adequate perimeter edge clearance for maintenance and clearance to the ridge to avoid disturbing the capping. The designer quickly confirmed that the revised layout wouldn’t impact energy production or installation costs and provided a plan of the as-executed layout.

The 3 man installation crew were all SAE employees. Definitely the top notch “A” Team; safe, quick and courteous working on a difficult partly steep (30 deg) pitched, tiled roof. Commissioning went smoothly despite the complicated augmented system with 2 monitoring Apps.

SAE were let down by their subcontract installation crew that first turned up to do the work the week before. After seeing that it was a 2 storey house with a steep pitch they pulled out and asked SAE to call in the A Team. Definitely a breakdown in communication between the design and installation teams.

Overall I’m happy with the job. Bit disappointed that the layout was changed but I’m assured it won’t impact on performance. SAE quickly responded and resolved any problems and were genuinely sorry for any inconvenience. Original ratings

We Finally made the right decision to go with SAE Group

The sales / quoting process by SAE consultant Mark was easier than expected and when well. We told our SAE consultant Mark what we wanted and expected our system to do. Our SAE consultant Mark laid out a plan for us. We Negotiate a reasonable price that we could afford. The installation timeline when ahead as agreed. We when for a Seraphim solar panels. Sungrow Invertors and battery. The installers were professional and knew what they were doing. The Installation when ahead without any problem. Everything about new system was explain clearly about how it works before they left. The Installers help us to download an App to show us in real time how our new system was working which was great. The Installers left the place tidy and clean and took all the rubbish away. After getting many quotes from other companies. SAE Group was the best choice.
We like to thank SAE consultant Mark that made it easy for us to choose the right plan for our needs.

Very good experience

I have had Solar for a long time and in early 2024 decided to add a battery. I chose a battery brand and a company that installed it. I also got approval for a Govt rebate. The battery people went into Voluntary Administration so I had to change my options. I was under the pump time wise to retain my rebate & the original installers could not assist. I had an 8 kWh inverter which caused additional issues regarding approval with Energex. I went to SAE and explained my problems and time constraints hoping they could help.

Everything went fast and smoothly with plenty of communications along the way. Originally I was looking at a 9.96kWh battery but decided to go with Sungrow 10 kWh Hyrid Inverter and 12.8 kWh's of Sungrow Batteries. I have 9.96 kWh's of panels on my roof. I had to swap out a Sungrow 8 kWh Inverter but they are the breaks. Like Finn from Solar Quotes, anybody want a 2 year old inverter going cheap. I am please that I went with 12.8 kWh's because my ducted A/C has sucked the batteries dry pretty quickly during recent cold mornings. Already thinking of adding more capacity but will be patient. SAE is in my speed dial for the future and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to go the solar route.

Happy to totally recommend them

Consultant Andre was knowledgeable and helpful. I had quite a few quotes and discussions before him and had informed questions to ask. The genial installers completed the job in one long day, 7-5.30 and left no hint of mess to clean up. The 4 weeks to get connected was not of their doing as they had set it up promptly.

Great support leading up to install. Poor support post install.

The team to quote and organize the install were absolutely awesome and very responsive.

We are disappointed with how the electrical works look with external cabling being able to be seen from the street, when it could have been run through the roof.

The post installation is where it all fell apart. The team and e-mails state they will lodge with your energy retailer for you for the required connection, however, this is not the case when you contact them on what to do next.
You are told you must call your provider yourself and organize.
We did receive an e-mail 12 days after installation with details required to lodge the paperwork with the energy supplier. 12 days after installation is a long time to wait before even being able to lodge the request. Add on the days for your energy provider to attend your home (up to 16 business days) and that is how long it is before you can start using your solar.
The call center aren't very helpful post install when asking for any details if you wanted to get the ball rolling sooner and don't even inform you that an e-mail with all the required details will eventually be sent to you.
At the end of it all we felt really lost, unsupported and no idea what to do next to be able to use our solar.

Fantastic service

Beau and his team were fantastic. Respectful and took their boots off without asking when going upstairs to access the man hole. Tidied up after themselves. As the service was not roughed in a new build we could hide the wires in the wall but they did a great job aligning with down pipes to reduce unsightly conduit.

13.2kW REC & Fronius solar panel installation by SAE Group

Having undertaken many reviews / doing research into reputable solar panel hardware suppliers and installers here in Brisbane, we selected SAE Group given their experience, workmanship and reputation in the industry.

We have been looking at quality / reputable solar system for our new house which is on a 1 acre block. We have considered hybrid inverter based systems with build in capability to add batteries later (when these become more economical) as well as microinverter based systems. Since we are in near full sun all day with no shading it did not make sense for the added expense to go microinverters.

The team at SAE Group has been patient and working closely with us to select the best gear for our setup (decided on REC panels + Fronius inverter with Clenergy black mounting system - suits our monument colorbond roof).

Installation went extremely well and team was very professional, kept us abreast of progress over the 2x days to install and also consulted closely with us to ensure we installed this in the best possible location (upfront legwork has been key).

A big shout out to Andrew Orton and the installation / support team at SAE Group. Highly recommend and look forward to a future battery system install when the time is right. At the moment just enjoying our system and learning how best to use mother nature's free energy daily.

Very Professional

Professional and Quality Installation

Recently had a Tesla Powerwall added to my solar system. Have used SAE group 3 times now and they provide quality products and installs have always been neat and look great. From sales providing detailed and honest information and everything they said this system would do works to the installation team doing a great job of the installation.
The only negative was the installers were unaware of the new Dynamic Export control and how to configure everything but that was resolved in a timely manner on the same day. SAE needs to provide installers with more training internally in the company on new processes and technologies.
Overall, really happy with the installation and the entire team at SAE.

Extremely professional and thorough always putting the customer first

SAE are fantastic to deal with always keeping the lines of communication open and the quoting process is thorough and streamlined so you can make those important decisions. Great installation

From the time I made inquiries into getting my old solar panels replaced to the actual installation I have nothing but praise for the customer service I received. Brodie was more than helpful and professional in the organisation and set up for me. I had need to have some more instruction on how the app works, she was more than willing to help and explain in terms I could understand.
Arm and his assistant Finn were extremely knowledgeable and professional and a delight to deal with whilst installing the panels. After installation Arm helped me install the apps necessary and explained how they worked. I was amazed at how simple the whole process is , even though I needed to seek further help as I wasn’t sure I was doing exactly what was required!

Infrastructure was well installed and technician obviously took a lot of pride in his workmanship

I had worked in the retail industry all of my working life and was very impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and willingness of the sales representative to achieve the right solar system and quality that I wanted.
Unfortunately the installation was delayed due to continual heavy rain however I was kept fully informed as to rescheduling . The installer was punctual, polite and well dressed. Work site was cleaned up of any rubbish before he left.
I could not fault the customer service from both the sales representative, office clerical staff and the field technician who
were keen to make sure that the whole installation process flowed smoothly to a well planned procedure.

SAE - Great Solar Purchase Experience

Very easy company to deal with and appeared to know their stuff. The initial consult was great, with the salesman turning up on time, discussing a range of options including panels and inverters. Once I decided to go with SAE, they only needed a 10% deposit to book the job in. Instal was similarly easy with the technicians turning up on time and getting all the work done in one day. Workmen were professional, polite and knowledgeable. When our electric oven stopped working on that day, the electrician had a look at it for me (super simple fix) and got it going again.

Overall, a good company to deal with and the solar is currently working fine and saving me lots of $$.

Honest and reliable installer

The respsentative took his time to explain the pros and cons between 10 and 13kw system and reality that the solar system doesn't work on full capacity on most times, especially on cloudy days. Thus, we went with the 13kw to meet our needs with the electric car
Installation was straight forward and fast. 1 month in, and nil problem. Hopefully, it stays that way.
They helped with the grid connection and did give us a head up on needing to contact AGL, but it was all sorted before I need to call AGL.
The tesla charger was smooth, but it wasn't set up that day. But they came back on the following day to set it up, so it is all good

We decided to add an additional Sungrow SBR032 module to our existing 12.8kwh battery stack after receiving our QLD Govt Rebate for the initial install. The process with SAE Group was quick and easy. Ross did the paperwork and It did not take long for SAE Tweed Heads to arrange the install. Very satisfied customer.

Terrible follow up with SAEGroup

Installation with contractors was great.
System is working well.

Great service

The sales quote we chose was the highest of the three quotes. We chose the one we did because the sales person was very friendly, efficient and thorough, answering all of our questions and providing the help we needed. All staff and crew we interacted with were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. They organised everything including contacting our electricity supplier regarding grid connection. After everything was up and running, I contacted the office as Iwasn't sure of a few things. They were extremely helpful and responded really quickly. So far very pleased with everything.

Great price and workmanship

I bough a 9.6kW Sungrow solar battery with a 5kW hybrid inverter (to replace the existing non-hybrid) through SAE Group. They did a great job from the sales to commissioning of the Solar battery to hand over. I would recommend SAE to anyone who is looking for Solar battery.

Work of art installation

Tech was on time , introduced himself, went through the installation plan and installed the Sungrow hybrid inverter and Sungrow battery system. Attention to detail on installation was impeccable. As was the explanation and handover. Tech fully cleaned up after job and installation was a work of art.

Excellent products and service

SAE Group provided excellent service again for upgrading our existing system to a 3 phase Fronius inverter with additional panels and large battery system. They installed our initial Maxeon plus Fronius system 4 years ago, and it worked flawlessly. The upgraded Maxeon plus Fronius plus BYD system is also now working flawlessly, producing, storing and exporting exactly as expected. Very happy with the sales, administration and installation staff for this Sunshine Coast installation - two great experiences of dealing with this company.

Very professional installation with a tidy finish.

The quoting was a fairly straight forward process with enough information to make an informed decision. The installation was excellent. We felt very confident in the way “Arm” managed the install and the quality of the team’s work.
Arm visited twice after the work was completed to offer the guidance and give us a chance to ask questions.

Don’t pick these guys

Firstly the sales / quoting department was only part of the problem
Promises that didn’t match the quoted price
Quoted that the inverter to be placed in garage.
Then said would be extra cost to put in garage
On the day of installation installer said no
Was to big of problem.
Wouldn’t put in garage.
So I canceled the install.
A week later rings me and says that it can be installed in garage and if I don’t I’ve broken the contract agreement
I decided to cancel contract because if they lie at the quotation and install I couldn’t trust them if something went wrong.
Also when the insulation guys had morning tea / lunch they put all there rubbish from sandwiches on the lawn and lied about it when informed the company.

They blamed the kitchen cabinet guys even though they were on camera.
I’m so annoyed that these guys can advertise so much but give crap service
As soon as they went home, I contacted JDZ Solar to quote and told him what happened his brother came out straight away and was disgusted with how I was treated.

JDZ Solar installed my solar in the garage and the great thing was it was heaps cheaper.
If you want an honest quote go with them.

We have conducted an internal review and the individuals accused have denied any misconduct and advised they didn't have any meal breaks when onsite. It is worth noting that there were other trades present on-site during that day.

We had young Tyson do the Sales Pitch for SAE, incredibly helpful and sincere in his approach and manner. Well Done!!
We had ARM do the instillation, did an excellent job l even got up on the roof myself to check out the workmanship.

Excellent service

From the start (Sales rep to Installers) to finish SAE group provided an excellent experience explaining details, answering questions with follow up assistance from office staff and Andre our sales rep. We are now a proud owner of a solar system which will help reduce our electricity bill, power our home with the added benefit to the environment.

New system with a battery

Good sales person but needed a little extra knowledge on the QLD Battery program.
Installation was very efficient and done the same day. Very clean and tidy.
Office staff are very friendly and are only to happy to help and grid was done bay SAE.
