RLE Group Pty Ltd Reviews
About
Ryan started solar electrical work when he was 19 years old, he was a third year apprentice. At 28 he's now worked his way up the ladder doing small residential jobs, commercial jobs, large scale commercial jobs and also signed off the Bolivar 10.5Mega watt job as a compliance and site auditor for SA water. He now brings large scale quality to smaller jobs and goes way beyond that with Energy management, after sales help with energy retailers ensuring customers get the best energy rate.
RLE also do panel cleaning and schedules for all of our systems and we check in with our customers every few months to ensure everything’s working as it should. RLE Group Pty LTD started in 2021 with all this in mind and have not advertised once due to always following the highest quality install. They aim for the best after sales care they can provide and don’t want to be a installer that just drops and disappears in a few years time.

Look no further that RLE Group if you want a quality, professional installation.
Look no further that RLE Group if you want a quality, professional installation.OK, that’s the summary, now for the details:
After getting 3-4 random quotes (Facebook), I got onto SolarQuotes to get 3 proper quotes. One never made contact, 2 did. Ryan Looker from RLE Group made contact and came for a site visit.
My requirements were: Lots of PV panels, 3 phase, wanting provision for a future battery. Nearing retirement I wanted something that would reduce my power bills to nearly zero if possible. I work from home now but will retire at the end of the year.
Ryan suggested 45 Jinko PV panels and, initially, 2 Goodwe Inverters (one 10kW 3 phase & 1 5kW single phase). In the end we went with one large SMA 15kW 3 phase.
On the day of install Ryan and Will rocked up and the first thing they did was walk the roof inspecting the tiles. Ours is a new build and only moved in the week before. Ryan found 6 cracked/broken tiles. I had spares and they replaced these after taking pictures of the bad tiles. With bad weather, it was a bit hit-and-miss with getting the panels on the roof. We have concrete tiles with a glaze and very slippery went wet.
Install went very smoothly and very professionally, keeping us informed all the way on progress and any issues. The only real issue was the rain and a small hick-up with SMA supplying the wrong MC4’s (?) – wrong mix of male/female I believe. Ryan got on to SMA and all got sorted.
As for the cabling? So neat and tidy, with no cables hanging down on the roof tiles. Time spent doing the job right. It is even pre-wired ready for a battery with a 250Amp disconnect in place, but not wired for safety reasons – but ready to go.
All in all I couldn’t be happier with the workmanship, quality and professionalism. It’s a cloudy rainy day as I write this and can see I’m still putting out 3.5Kw with ~13kWh today so far.
Note that no gnomes were harmed during the installation and commissioning of this system.

Don’t waste your time shopping around. Ryan ticks all the boxes!
After weeks of getting quotes online and over the phone, I was left wondering who I could trust. I just wasn’t completely convinced that anyone I had spoken to actually had my best interests in mind.Ryan came highly recommended by a family friend but I made sure I did some vetting of my own. I was looking for a CEC accredited designer, installer and retailer (this is the trifecta people). Ryan at RLE Group was 1 of only 2 that ticked all of those boxes, this was out of around a dozen companies I had spoken to. The kicker was that he was able to offer me the high end “optimised” system at a much more palatable price. Finally, I had found “the one” and was ready to commit. Ryan’s experience and expertise are obvious, he takes pride in his work and looks after his customers. Start to finish an absolute breeze, could not recommend any higher.

friendly, uncomplicated, you get what you see.
System is not fully completed as SA Power and electrician have not yet started their work. RLE have been great to work with and very amicable in how and when the system would be installed. Installation has been on schedule and communication has been excellent. No problems about small adjustments they just do the job efficiently and keep you informed all along the way. A no-fuss pleasurable experience.09 May 2023
Excellent attention to detail
Ryan and his team were extremely professional, great with communication during and after the installation. He was punctual and cleaned up post install. Ryan also contacted us two months down the track to ensure we were happy with how our system was running. He also made a point of making sure we understood the app so we could monitor our system. We would certainly recommend his company to others. All the best Ryan.

Original Review on 04-05-2023:
Bit hit and miss
Quoting process was good, friendly and receptive to questions, installation was okay, reasonably tidy, gave the impression of being across everything experience wise, but by the the time the job and some extra work was completed I wasn’t so sure.A concrete garden ornament was broken in the process, suspect very new apprentices where responsible but no admission forth coming.
On the day of completion I was given the strong impression grid connection would be fairly straightforward, this turned out to be incorrect, it resulted in a he said she said situation between the installer and the power provider, after 3 interventions by me it was finally resolved, 10 working days later I was allowed to switch it on.
No follow up contact re operation since installation.
My advice would be if using Solar quotes read the reviews on the installers they put forward, I didn’t do this, my fault. Original ratings

17 months later we asked Neil: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
To be fair It’s probably performing the best it can, for me ..No not really, I was at least expecting to zero out at least one power bill, with a 9kw system only 2 people in the house, we are deemed low electricity users, I further had to install a green catch relay, as my so called excess power wasn’t of setting the heating of my hot water service.I’m limited to 5kw export, and I still get a power bill!
