WARNING??AVOID POWERSMART INDUSTRIES??
??WARNING AVOID ??Extremely unhappy with the service or we should say the extreme lack of service we received from Powersmart Industries. They activated finance 12mths before the completion of the solar panels being set up and operating. Those 12mths have been an absolute nightmare of multipble phone calls to the company only to be treated with arrogance and dismissal by leading us to no where and uncertainty. Only to be arrogantly insulted by the company who’s response was “We aren’t entitled to compensation as the system should have been turned on” ( which was impossible due to the missing parts that needed to be installed first for the system to be able to be turned on) Not only were we paying for a product that wasn’t working we were still paying power bills as well! When we contacted the lady who sold us the solar panels and activated the finance to try find out why our solar panels weren’t working she had left the company and palmed us onto someone who was supposed to be in charge of installing our solar panels who then in turn palmed us off onto someone else who had suppose to have posted the parts necessary to get our system operating but to no avail as parts never turned up and then they were all impossible to contact and had disappeared. It wasn’t until Elly took over and contacted a local electrician who came out and assessed everything and informed us what was needed to get it all up and running so ordered the parts we needed and installed them. They were astounded that we were actually paying for this product before it was even completed. So finally after 12mths we had received the service we should have had at the start. Elly has been amazing following through with everything necessary to get our solar system up and working. Our finance should never have been activated until our solar system was operational. Now we will take what ever steps necessary to receive fair compensation from Powersmart Industries not only for the complete lack of service and having to pay for a product we didn’t have but also for the power bills we shouldn’t have been receiving in the 12mth period and the toll of the stress created during this whole ordeal! We will take what ever steps necessary or avenue we have to to insure that we are compensated adequately. What ever it takes!! Not only to receive compensation but to also reduce the risk of this nightmare happening to other unsuspecting customers. Rest assured we will inform everyone we know ??TO AVOID POWERSMART INDUSTRIES AT ALL COSTS??This is just not right or good enough and has been the worst experience we have ever encountered!!

Very professional.
Thanks for your input Finn. It was invaluable. We already had Power Smart booked in before finding your site. Then added Yuma and Sol Energy. They were all very good and after each initial meeting we were very impressed. But at the end of the day Power Smart’s Damien was the most real , straight forward and knowledgeable on everything from how it works to how and where it was installed. They had been warranties, better after care and their panels were Canadian solar panels ( better durability and quality than the others). There professionalism in following through on forms, our questions and program was exemplary. The installation was smooth. The follow up was friendly and informative. I’m surprised these guys aren’t on your list for our area. Anyway- 5 stars from us so far.Inverter rating: 5/5

Sub Standard Installation Quality, Does Not Meet Aus Standards, Poor Aftersales Support, 2months post installation and system still not functioning
Initial Impressions were good, after receiving alternative quotes and performing my own due diligence, Power Smart Industries appeared to offer reasonable value and were the most hungry for the business, they were not the cheapest nor the dearest. They appeared to review reasonably well and their proposal was one of the better that I had received detailing production estimates etc.I decided to proceed with Power Smart Industries and the communication was reasonable throughout the scheduling of the project. Their installation team were friendly and respectful. I assume the project was underestimated by their sales force as it took a total of three days to complete the installation although only one day was allocated initially. A little frustrating at the time but no real concern.
Post installation I noticed the production of my system was considerably lower than what was estimated. This concern was raised with with them and their response was due to "Shading". While this is a valid comment, their proposal states the following:
ASSUMPTIONS & DISCLAIMER
2 Energy Output is calculated based on historical solar irradiance at the given location. A typical meteorological year is selected using statistical methods. Factors including panel tilt, orientation (azimuth), and system efficiency are taken into account.
3 System efficiency is estimated to account for losses caused by a variety of factors. These factors include intermittent shading, cable losses, dirt, scheduled downtime, manufacturer tolerances, inverter efficiency for DC to AC (this does not affect off-grid DC only systems), battery round trip efficiency, and other factors.
Naturally you would assume that the performance that they have predicted would be relatively accurate, not an average of 23% less than the quoted production.
The second performance concern that is yet to be addressed is the peak performance of the system. The highest peak output that the system has offered since installation is 4.61KW (62% of system capacity). This in itself is an anomaly, typically peak outputs per day are typically much lower and are well under 4KW. Once again, I have been informed this is "normal" while my personal research would suggest otherwise.
My concerns have continued to be fobbed off, so to eliminate any further argument and ambiguity I engaged a third party to perform an audit of the system at my cost. In short, the system has not been installed inline with Australian Standards with a number of safety hazards, the overall installation quality is poor and the system has not been installed to offer the best performance possible (as suspected). Ultimately the for the system to be installed to a satisfactory standard, the entire system requires reinstallation.
After receiving my first power bill it was the highest it has ever been as the solar system was not isolated as I awaited a meter upgrade, nor did they advise Energex of the installation. As such, the system has negatively impacted two months of power bills and no STC credits are payable. Ironically, on the day of handover I was advised by them that I did not need to do anything and the system is now active which I now know is incorrect.
I am now at my witts end and will be seeking a full refund for the system and have engaged the ACC to intervene to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

They had the best salesperson by a long shot, who could actually show me how my house used power and what I had to do if I put solar on myself. All the other companies where trying to just show me their products but Powersmart focused on my bill not their panels.
The guys that came on the day were also very pleasant to deal with, an the owner even came out and had a chat as the install was happening.
I don't usually leave reviews for companies but since they are a family business and have been so good to myself and my neighbours I thought I would.

Terrible
- Delayed installation- Took over 6 months of chasing them to get it connected. It was a nightmare.
- Customer service was terrible. They change staff constantly and the new ones would have no idea and start again.
- I had to find an electrician myself to get it sorted after they promised they had all local connections if anything went wrong.... they did not!
- I asked so many questions before we bought and they lied and lied. I feel so conned.
- A year on, my electricity bill was promised to be down to $400 it is $900.... nowhere near the savings promised.
- I emailed them regarding the fact i was paying for the solar for 7 months while it was not connected and now the bill in not very reduced.
- They blamed me, my partner & origin. I provided evidence of where we did our part correctly and dates. They no longer commincate with me and i was very nice about it all.
- The customer service has been terrible ever since we signed up.
