Simply the Best

I used Positive Energy about 12 months ago to install 16 panels and was really impressed with their knowledge and service. The install of the panels was faultless and I was able to get a good “deal”.
12 months later I decided to get a battery and I could not go past Positive Energy Solutions. Louis came back to me straight away with some options and answered my queries promptly. Great price and a discount.

Excellent knowledgable service

Purchased 11.5kW of Sunpower Performance panels with a Fronius 10kW 3 phase inverter. The team from Positive Energy was excellent to deal with through the quoting process and install.

Install required multiple visits including a prewire for the cable from the panels to the inverter location while the house was still being built. Two visits to install solar panels due to difficult roof access and the need for scaffolding to be moved and then a final inverter install and commissioning.

Each and every one at Positive Energy is extremely polite and professional. The whole experience was satisfying and I received a well balanced analysis of my power usage and a considered solution to suit my needs.

the sales/quoting process took less than 1 day.

Perfect system to meet our needs

I contacted Positive Energy Solutions following a recommendation from the Solar Quotes website (which I also highly regard). Solar Quotes provided leads to 3 solar suppliers and Louis Stone from Positive Energy Solutions responded almost immediately and we started the quotation process with Positive Energy. Louis asked all the key questions and provided three potential solutions. The chosen solution was a 10.66 kW solar array and 20.5 kwh. Other suppliers suggested a larger solar array and smaller battery, albeit at lower cost but would have resulted in excess power exported to the grid during the day and less battery storage capacity for evening use. The 10.66kW/20.5kwh option has proven a great choice delivering plenty of power for Perth's very hot summer in a home with heavy airconditioning demand during the day and running into the evening. Louis' willingness to respond to my every question and ability to understand our needs was important in selecting a system to suit our situation.
As this was an install on a new 2 storey house Positive Energy Solutions were very flexible with the panel install completed while the upper floor scaffolding was in place and then installation of the inverter and battery were completed some months later at completion of the build. This was very easy to coordinate with their office manager. The end result is a very neat (see photos) and fit for purpose system!

Great post-sales service!

Great service! Positive Energy gave me an in-person same day reply to an email enquiry regarding fine-tuning my solar power system configuration to ensure an uninterrupted back-up function in the event of extended power outages / blackouts. This is excellent service, especially given that this is now 6 months after installation, and the in-person support was on a weekend. Highly recommended.
(and did I mention that the Positive Energy installation team were professional, timely, courteous, polite - really exceeded my expectations).

Exceeding Expectations

Sadly I find myself here writing a review after being sold a rather premium priced 3kw system in late 2016 and 6 years later when the panels started shattering finding the warranty worthless as the panel manufacturer had gone broke. The likely cause is being clamped outside the specified clamping zones by the installer which was pretty obvious from the marks on the frame when they were removed. After the 3rd of 12 original panels failed, a long list of empty promises by Perth Solar Warehouse and even the inability to return calls when I suggested I was considering replacing the system with one including a battery I gave up on attempting to deal with them and started the adventure to install a new and improved system.

Sadly when you have a 2 story townhouse with a smaller more complicated roof plan many installers seem happy to write down a very generic set of specs with a big price tag they know won’t fit and hope you go away. So after a few false starts I had the pleasure of meeting Louis from Positive Energy.

Having not long added an EV to the garage and wanting to add a battery made for rather a challenge to design a system that would produce enough power but also fit and make use of the roof space that faces SE/SW that would usually be ignored by most installers. At our first meeting Louis had 3 different system designs with alternative batteries for each design and a few panel options at a significant discount. It was refreshing to see someone that knew all the products he was offering inside out and wanted to sell the right option for me rather than what was most profitable like many others would.

At the time Tesla Powerwall 3 was just going through the approvals process and we decided to go that way as the combined inverter battery makes for a neat install and I was very much sold on the LFP chemistry for any battery that was going to live in my garage over NMC.

Cut to a few weeks later and Hiroshi the electrician/installer came round with his tape measure and had to break the news that 5 of the panels were just not going to fit which would result in a drop in output of nearly 20% from the original design. Thankfully Louis had the patience of a saint and continued to come up with alternatives including some larger commercial panels but nothing was quite right. We were now well inside a month from install date and still struggling to find a panel with a high enough output, small enough dimensions to work and available before the install date. Our saviour came in the form of Aiko 475w panels available with a whole week to spare. Cutting it fine to say the least.

Our final system Tesla Powerwall 3, 23 Aiko panels for 10.9kw ( 7 of which face SE/SW ) a heap of optimisers and a system that is exceeding expectations by huge margins. Synergy in their wisdom hobble ALL inverters on single phase to 5kw but as long as the battery is not full it will charge above this limit. To keep it simple I can draw the full 5kw for the house and the battery will pull up to 5kw above this. Creating this situation has seen stable solar production peaks of 9.7kw for nearly an hour on the days I actually managed to not fill the battery before 11am. Once the battery is full the system winds down to about 5.2kw for the rest of the day. Biggest days total production 60kw and consistently over 50kw even when the battery is full well before midday.

As for those panels pointing the “wrong way” they are helping me to see 1kw less than 40min after sunrise and not dropping below 1kw until just over an hour before sunset which really helps the battery through the night when I leave both aircon’s going all night.

Can’t thank Louis and Hiroshi enough. System is brilliant, the install is incredibly neat and tidy, and their customer service and professionalism fantastic. In an industry full of shonky operators Positive Energy really are a gem and I hope going to the effort of writing this encourages a few readers to find out for themselves.

Great installation. Hassle free!!

Mark from Positive Energy Solutions arrived at the agreed time.
He listened to what I wanted from the system and what my requirements were and then went through several options.
After deciding on what battery would best suit my needs he left and then by the end of the day had provided me with 3 options for panels etc. to go with my preferred battery!
After choosing Positive Energy Solutions (easy decision from out of the 3 companies I requested quotes from!) the process was hassle free.
The Installation Team were great, and the job finished within the allotted 2 days with the system up and running.
To my surprise they even worked through the 41-degree temperatures on the 2 days!

The entire process was made very easy, and using the app its is very simple to see the benefits in action. Very Impressed

I recently had a solar panel and battery system installed with Positive Energy Solutions and was blown away by the outstanding service! From the moment I engaged with them they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Solar Install - With No Complaints!

From the first contact the Positive Energy Solutions experience was as the name suggests - positive. It was that positive that after receiving the site visit and quote from Louis, and pondering for a couple of days, I decided to go ahead without getting other quotes. The installation experience was professionally managed, and Damian did a great job. The grid connection was all managed by PES, and by the time Damian left, I had logged in to the proprietary app and was able to instantly see the results of the system on a beautiful sunny day. I look forward to payback over the next 3-4 years!
(Footnote: My wife, who had been somewhat averse to solar panels on the roof, decided that the 6 "Neo-Satin" sleek black panels we could see from the road were actually not too bad!)

Prompt & professional

The quoting process was informative and simple and the main reason that I chose this installer. They really got to understand my wants and needs and gave me the relative options to achieve them. Great service all round

Positive Energy was fantastic from start to finish.
Louis came over late on a weekday and ran me through a few different options. Just laid facts, didn’t feel like your typical sales quote. I had my two kids screaming at me and he was such. Good communicator I got all the info I needed. Very patient from Louis I must say!

We subsequently decided to increase the number of panels and went straight back to Positive Energy Solutions. We were offered different solutions to our need, made the selection and had the panels installed – and again their installation team was a pleasure to work with. I was so pleased with the company I recommended them to a friend who subsequently installed a battery and additional solar panels with Positive Energy Solutions and he too is very pleased with the decision to use them.

Very impressed with Positive Energy Solutions

I was very impressed with Positive Energy Solutions from quotation phase right through to installation. Louis was able to present a proposal that was easily understood and very cost competitive. Following acceptance of the quote we were regularly provided administration information and appropriately updated on installation processes and timing. The installation was performed without fuss and we could not have been any more satisfied with the overall outcome of our solar purchase.
