Original Review on 19-04-2012:

My parents were also interested in solar and after a number of quotes also decided Mannix was the best installer for them. Original ratings

25 months later we asked Elizabeth: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

Very much so. My electric bills are so much lower than I expected for an all-electric house.rnI did have one problem at the very start in that the meter reader did not take the solar system into account and reported "an unknown meter" and I was issued with an estimated bill that horrified me; thankfully the Ombudsman's department is extremely helpful and fair.rn

Original Review on 13-06-2011:

System is yet to be installed but didn't get oversell, in fact I wanted to go to bigger system but rep very concerned about potential shading issues from neighbours house. An onsite inspection and 2 lots of satellite mapping programs left him very concerned about shading; unlike true value solar who would only quote/install from satellite maps.

Zen rep very thorough but price increases put them thousands of dollars more expensive and word of mouth made me hesitate..couldn't see what the local council deal with zen was about anyway???Too many unanswered questions.

The solar shop spent a good deal of time going thru best system options but he very keen on thin film panels and down on mono-crystalline panels???

Will update after Mannix installs but with them no pressure, very professional.. every company had a different perspective on the same question..what a minefield; but Finn has been fantastic with links to get an unbiased overview, thank-u so much.

16 months later we asked Jan: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

Am happy not to be paying electricity bills- obviously the amount paid initially hasn't been recovered yet but will see that happen over the next few years. As long as I remain in credit I am Happy!!!

Original Review on 09-09-2011:

Was tossing up to go with Origin (interest free payments) but they were not flexible on price.
Mannix did drop their price & offered a $300 discount for payment within 3 days of unit installation. The installers arrived 7am, explained what they were going to do, were polite, didn't leave a mess & did a neat tidy job. No damage to my very old 1950's concrete tiled roof - they did say there may be a chance of some tiles breaking - but they were careful.

Original Review on 02-08-2011:

ETSA still had the problem on installation of feed in meter.
Scheduled for 5th September which is 7 week after system was put in.
They are inconsistent as my mother in Clare had her feed in meter in before the system.

Chose this supplier as their price was competative and had good service from them 10 years ago when they installed our ducted air-conditioning, that is still going as well as the day it was installed. Their trades people do not leave any mess and do a very tidy job. Original ratings

The installers were friendly, quick, considered any issues I asked of them. They cleaned up after themselves. They acted very professionally.

I called Mannix and the sales person came out the following business day and viewed the site. He then arranged for the installer to check to see if the roof space would fit the number of panels. Great service overall.

We had been through Mannix for our air conditioning and know they stand by their products and after sales service is great. We would recommend them to anyone and have. They are very professional and their installers explain everything to you in laymen's terms.

Only Blue Sky and Solar 2000 replied. Never heard from 3rd company.
Both were very thorough and similar pricing but the final decision was based on a locally experienced company.

Installed very quickly, no hassles.

A positive word-of-mouth from a friend prompted me to call Mannix. Their salespeople are easy to talk to and they answer questions. My experience has been excellent and my system was installed within 2 weeks of paying my (small) deposit with a guaranteed 5-weeks from the date of order for ETSA to do their part.

I found all companies salesmen pretty good with their presentation & knowledge, the systems were very similar however the prices varied significantly. The quotes ranged from $14500 to $28000 for a 5 Kw system, thats a difference of $13500. This seems too much of a difference for systems where all panels are made in China & the inverters are either Germany or China.

Good customer service - honored the installation date quoted. Some conflict between designer and installer but this was satisfactorily resolved by the company (at no inconvenience to me).

Installation team were efficient and fast. Good advice and service from Mannix salespeople. 10% deposit helped to decide and reputation of Mannix as installers.

The installation happened when it was originally planned and the salesman ensured I was fully informed of how to get the PV meter installed. It was an effortless experience.

Salesman for SolarSA needs to learn how to handle losing a sale. Criticising other competitors only makes him look unprofessional.

Mannix was very prompt and customer service was top notch. Nothing was too much trouble and Was able to answer all my questions. While friends of ours have panels up but area waiting on the box from etsa to import export. On our system we had the export import meter within 2 weeks of having our panels installed. Good on you Mannix.

The one thing missing is our smart meter, which is supplied by ETSA, supposedly a months wait?, but still waiting at this stage

Needed a phone call from us to get him out for a promised site inspection. Even though he said he was an electrician he didnt notice or didn't want to notice that we had a digital meter readout box and therefore it is not advisable to use the solar system until a smart metre is installed []as it can cause our next electricity bill to double]. It is now a 5 MONTHS wait for a smart metre. Not impressed with the company, we cant use our solar system for 5 months....we could have spent the money on something else, we are pensioners. we should have been told this information. NOT HAPPY.

Good tradepersons installed system and left sight clean

As soon as paid in full, would not return phone calls regarding what i should expect to read on inverter.

I expected that on full sun direct overhead i should see with north facing pitched tile roof 1500 watts, the best i have seen is 1350 fleetingly.

I don't know wether it is due to components below par or other factors, hence my unanswered phone callls to Mannix Solar.
