Koala Solar is a local, family-run business based in sunny Perth, Western Australia. Started in 2012 as Line Tech Energy, the firm evolved into Koala Solar in 2015. The company provides residential and commercial solar systems in Perth and the South West region, with a wide range of solar panels, inverters and batteries. It's a Fronius Solutions Partner and Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer. 

Koala Solar also provides solar hot water solutions, including heat pumps.

10kw installation

The people were all friendly, efficient and courteous during the whole process from quote to installation. Their quote was very competitive and I was given options to consider regards our current and future needs. No hard selling , just good information given. All required paperwork was done promptly by them. Great experience overall.

Instal of my FranklinWH aPower 14.366Kw Battery

Once again, Koala Solar have lived up to their reputation as a friendly, helpful and efficient administration and works scheduling team. (they had already installed my Solar panels and inverter 9 years ago)

Today, Koala Solar installed a FranklinWH aPower solar battery and A-Gate at my Australind residence.

Couldn't be more happy. Answered all of my questions and left me feeling very content with the work and the product they installed.

You won't get better service than what these proud people provide.

Amazing service

Quote was very detailed and Sean explained all the details and the process without being a pushy sales person.
I asked for a site inspection before install to ensure there would be no surprises and they were punctual and explained the process on the day.
Install day Again they arrived on time, were polite, worked around me when they needed to turn the power off, did a fantastic install, everything is labeled and left the place spotless.

Brilliant from start to finish!

I can’t speak highly enough of Koala Solar!

Right from the get go Koala were really helpful and easy to talk to directly, as well as being the least pushy in terms of sales. I could always speak to them the same day regarding any queries.

Out of multiple quotes I received, Koala were the most competitive and the only ones to get up on my roof and measured to check that my system would fit and confirm the minimum amount of panels.

My 11kw system was a tricky install with several roof sections, but Koala did an awesome job that is neat and delivers great solar production. Importantly, they also use their own install team, headed by the company owners!

I’d previously had a bad experience with another Perth installer that couldn’t deliver on what they’d quoted and I learnt how important it is to have a company that measures the roof area and also uses their own experienced install team!

A month after install I couldn’t be happier with the system that Koala delivered. I look at this as a 25 year investment, and Koala gave me the best fit for me to future proof my energy needs.

Could not ask for more

After months of e-mails, phone calls, requirement changes, rebates coming and going…we finally came to the end, and I could not be happier. Koala stayed in touch throughout the whole process and once all settled down gave me a quote and installation happened a few days later as they fitted me in on a Saturday.

Cory and his team arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled and about 6 hours later they were on their way.
I had a million questions, and all were answered during and after the installation. The place was left as clean as before they arrived…I kept my old panels and the BYD batteries as it was going to a friend but everything else was gone and all I have left is a brand-new system that works as expected…

Overall, I am as happy as….and would recommend (and have a few times already) Koala any day…could not ask for a more accommodating team.

I replaced an old Fronius with BYD batteries and my new system is a Sigenery unit, 14 kW on the roof, 10kw inverter and 16kWh battery…which I might upgrade to 24kWH and a 3-phase EV charger.

Great service from trusted installer

This is the second time we have used Koala Solar, and once again the process has been smooth and trouble free. Quoting was a breeze, scheduling the job very easy (thanks Bri and Kristy), and installation was very professionally completed. Highly recommended.

Best Choice For Sure

I requested a quote 24/06/25, received my quote on 27/06/25 and everything was installed and up and running 29/08/25. Koala provided a comprehensive quote and promptly answered any questions I had. They managed all of the interfaces with my energy provider and for both the federal and WA battery rebates without any issues. Installation of the 10KW system (21 panels) , 5KW Inverter, Gateway and 16.12KW Battery system took just 6hrs from start to finish and the team explained the App on my mobile phone in detail - although the App itself is pretty easy to understand

On Time. Professional and Value for Money

Working with Koala Solar has been a great no fuss and pleasant experience. Right from the first quote from theirs sales Rep Sean and his honesty with regards to the pricing, product and the govt rebates and VVP information (both federal and state). No extra jargon and not pushy at all to sell you anything. Once we discussed what our requirements were and once, I mentioned I was keen to have the sigenstor battery and inverter system installed with a 10kw solar array, the pricing, quote and follow up from there were great. Their prices were best if not better than a few big name company.
They managed to get me an install much earlier than originally anticipated (a couple of months earlier). I had a few questions about Bollards as the battery was going to be installed in the garage, and the customer support rep Brianna and her team were excellent in answering all my questions.
Today was my install and the team was on time (actually ahead of time) and managed to finish the install within a few hours. The installer Callum and his team were professional, courteous and polite and always cleaned up after completing parts of the job. They walked me through what they were going to do and once completed, they showed me what was done. Once the install was complete, we had a discussion on how to use the system, including using the app and explaining the different modes of the battery and some advice on how to use it for the best outcome of a low bill. Overall the install was very professional and looks great. Now to count the savings.

Excellent Koala Team - BYD batteries

Great team and company, what a pleasure to deal with!

Adam initially quoted an 11kWh BYD battery in March when the WA Battery rebate was announced. He was very accommodating and never tried to upsell, it was obvious with the rebate that maximising the battery for our home was our goal. We settled for 2 x 11kWh battery storage with a combiner box in the end.

Installed was booked for mid July but due to combiner box out of stock, this was delayed to mid September when the next BYD shipment arrived in Australia. Bri from the office was great, from communicating of the delay to shuffling the installer schedule for the installation in mid September.

Both Alex and Dylan rocked up early to set up the Batteries and the required electrical work, all done and dusted after 6 1/2+ hours, Dylan ensured the battery was functional and charged via solar. The guys left the place clean and tidy, could not fault them at all.

Overall, very happy with Alex and Dylan's work and BYD battery powering the house in the evening as expected. Big thank you to Bri, Kristy and Adam for the great customer service. Will definitely recommend Koala Solar to our colleagues, friends and families.

Fantastic team

I recently had a 10 kW Sigenergy inverter with 18.04 kW of Aiko panels and a 32 kWh battery installed by Koala Solar, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

From the very beginning, Sean was my main contact and he has been excellent. I sent him multiple emails with lots of detailed questions, and he always got back to me with accurate answers. If he wasn’t sure, he would follow up with the right people and come back with the correct information. I wouldn’t say every answer was instant — sometimes I had to follow up — but given how busy the rebate period has been, that was completely understandable. Compared to many other top-tier installers in WA who never even responded to my enquiries, Koala Solar’s communication was outstanding.

Other staff members including Bri and Kristy were also very helpful and professional. My solar journey had a stop-start moment when the WA government backflipped on their election promise about rebates. I initially booked and even had an install date, but I cancelled once things became uncertain. I expected resistance or pushback, but Koala Solar made it very easy. They simply said “when you’re ready, give us a call back” — no pressure, no hassle. Once everything was clarified, I re-engaged with them and was able to pick up right where I left off.

The installation team led by Callum arrived promptly on the day of install. They worked efficiently, answered all my questions, set up the app, and explained everything clearly. They left the site neat and tidy, which I really appreciated.

Overall, I am extremely happy with both the system performance and Koala Solar’s professionalism. At no point did I have to pay a deposit, and the entire process was smooth and transparent. I would strongly recommend Koala Solar to anyone in Perth who wants a high-quality solar and battery installation.

Really happy with Koala Solar. Would recommend to family and friends.

How was the sales/quoting process? - Really simple. A call back and a great 15 minute conversation that brought me up to speed on all of the conditions and rebates and eligibility requirements etc. After getting some dubious quotes from some pop-up companies, look at their "suspicious" 5 star ratings, we did our research and looked for a reputable company that had been established a significant time and we happened to find Koala Solar.
After rebates, $10,000 all up for 9.8 kw panels across two roof slopes, 16 kwh battery and 5 kw inverted all Sigen.

How did the installation go? Polite? Tidy? Punctual?
Great. I initially had Sep 19th booked in for install, received a phonecall yesterday afternoon (1st Sep) saying they had a cancellation and wanted to know if I wanted it installed tomorrow morning!! (2nd Sep). They arrived at 6:30 and were done by 10:30. Really impressed with the blokes. Stu is the owner of the company and was present with 3 other tradies; one an apprentice, love that they are training up more guys!!! All the guys were polite and friendly and professional. Everything was cleaned up and I was left to play with the mySigen app and see all the power I was generating.


How was the customer service? e.g. did they help organise the grid connection after the install, or show you how to use the charger? Yep. Stu and Jarrod stayed back and got me to download the app and log in. They ran me through a few things; battery, charging to battery, drawing from battery, etc etc. The app is pretty good.

Five stars in all areas.

We have just had a SigEnergy battery system installed and have been engaging with various members of the team for a few months now and they have all been so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I've spoken to the office staff, the sales staff and the installers.

The product is also top notch, nothing you can fault with this business.

Best Solar Company!

Right from the start Koala Solar were very attentive to my enquiry and not pushy for a deal! Everyone is so friendly and the service is amazing, very knowledgeable. Always keeping in touch at all the significant steps and answering all my questions. Very competitive pricing for very good quality products. A great decision to go with koala

Dealing with Koala Solar was aver simple process. The various solar options and costs involved were simply explained as were the potential savings for each option. The installation team were very friendly and efficient. All rubbish was removed and the premise was left in a clean state. After installation, the lead hand explained how the system operation and help me install the Sigen App on my phone. Excellent job guys.

Professional team and well priced system

This is the second time we used Koala Solar to install a system for us. The original 6.6Kw system with %Kw Fronius inverter still worked flawlessly but it was over 6 years old and we wanted to upgrade to a larger system with batteries so Koala Solar was the obvious choice for us. The quote received from them for a 18Kw solar, 48Kw battery and gateway box was better then expected with the other installer referred by Finn from Solar Quotes giving us a quote that was about $10k higher for a smaller 14Kw solar,40Kw battery and no gateway system. The people from Koala came at 7am as promised and the 5 guys removed the old system, did a neat installation of the new system and left the place as clean as they found it taking away all the rubbish, old panels , rails and bolts. Including commissioning of system, showing us the features of the system and how to operate the system it was all done in under 8 hours even with a couple of quick showers during the morning.

Great Service and Friendly Team - Highly Recommend

I’ve used Koala Solar on two separate occasions and have been impressed both times, firstly in 2020 for a 6.6Kw system, Fronius Inverter and Jinko panels) and now for Frankin 13.6Kw battery.
The team is professional, friendly, and easy to get in touch with, making the whole process completely hassle-free from start to finish.

Highly recommended battery installer

With the federal battery rebate kicking in, I came to Solarquotes to find a suitable battery installer.
Koala Solar had really high ratings and were also recommended by the actual battery company (FranklinWH) as one of their preferred installers. I chose FranklinWH as I already had an existing solar system and inverter that I didn't want to have to change or 'upgrade', and Koala Solar didn't try to upsell me anything like that either.
They provided a very detailed and competitive quote, and were also very clear in all communications, especially with the WA Govt messing around with their own rebates/back tracking on the amounts and what systems were applicable.
After agreeing to go ahead with Koala Solar, they found a slot for me very quickly.

Cory showed up right on time to install the system. He and his colleague were clean and efficient and got everything hooked up and working in just a few short hours. He took the time to explain the app and how everything worked together.

Would highly recommend them for any of your installation needs!

Batteries to compliment our 10kW rooftop system

Koala Solar installed our rooftop solar system with Fronius inverter in 2023. In July 2025 we got them to install a 13.8kWhr BYD battery storage under the recently-introduced WA rebate system. Their quote was competitive and they kept us informed of progress with the WA and Federal Government rebates. The crew arrived on site on time, and the installation, set-up and testing was completed quickly and professionally. We are quite happy to recommend Koala Solar for their professional advice, customer service and workmanship.

5 Stars – Highly Recommend!

Had a fantastic experience with this solar power company! From start to finish, the team was punctual, professional, and incredibly efficient. They installed my 6.6kW system in just a few hours, and everything went off without a hitch.

The inverter was installed in my very cluttered garage, but the team not only managed the job with no complaints—they actually left the area cleaner than it was before they arrived! They cleaned up after themselves thoroughly and took all their rubbish with them. If it weren't for the shiny new panels on my roof, you wouldn't even know they'd been here.

Now I'm enjoying free power and couldn't be happier. Thanks so much, guys! Great work all around.

Fantastic installer

The quoting process was fantastic. Sean took the time to explain the options and quoted a system that would best suit our requirements.
Booking the installation was seamless and I was provided reminders leading up to the scheduled installation day.
The team that undertook the system installation were awesome. Their workmanship is excellent and they were very neat and tidy.

Great install experience!

Very happy with the service provided by Koala solar. From the detailed quote and competitive price prepared by Adam to the regular updates and bookings details provided by Bri. During the installation the Koala team were very professional, courteous and efficient. The quality of workmanship was excellent plus they were very tidy onsite. After the install they showed me how to use the Fronius inverter app and gave me tips on electricity usage. So happy with the overall experience and have no hesitation in recommending Koala Solar to my friends and family.

Solid performance. Good clean installation.

Did exactly what they said they would do without fuss. Installers turned up on time and did what they said they would do quickly and efficiently without significant problems. Went to offer them coffee at smoko but they were almost finished.
Cannot comment on value for money or quality of system yet but seem to perform to specifications.
Lost a star on customer service because the Feronius app is very unstable. I keep having to reset it and the videos I was referred to did not explain resetting adequately. I had to improvise and rest every few days. Not Koala's fault but the system is the one Koala supply.
Koala's customer Service themselves were very good and very responsive. Bri, their front of office and co-ordinator is excellent and easy to talk to. They didn't make the videos but they do supply the inverter.

Great team & install again

Once again, I've used Koala for another solar install (13.8kw system), and it was a pleasure to deal with Corey and the hard working team.
They were very responsive from quote stage to completion, and completed the 3rd floor roof install efficiently, neatly and without any issues.

Competitive Pricing, and great after install support

Adam was really up front and informative. He answered all my questions, and tailored a quote that fit my requirements. The price was far better than some other reputable competitors for the exact same system. No upfront deposit requirement also felt safe.

Installation went flawlessly, The installer was freindly and disruption was kept to a minimum, the whole job took around 4.5-5 hours

After install support also was top notch. I emailed the company a couple of hours after install as I wanted to hook my system up to home assistant server, and they replied with the information i required within 20 mins.

Overall I am very happy with the install and the level of customer support. I am now looking to get a battery install and I will most definitely be going back to these guys.

Excellent customer service and workmanship!

The quote process was super quick and easy. They didnt try and sell me the most expensive package available and asked where i was comfortable price wise and we went from there. They managed to fit me in a lot earlier than we had scheduled which was perfect for me.
On instal day they showed up exactly when they said they would and both installers were great to deal with, they got stuck in straight away and told me what to expect throughout the day.
The tidied everything up when they left and actually left the garage cleaner than before they came. They also did a great job covering up a hole I had in the brickwork from an old air con system which I was really happy with!
Before they left they set me up on the Fronius app and made sure it worked so i could track usage.
Would recommend Koala every time!
