Koala Solar is a local, family-run business based in sunny Perth, Western Australia. Started in 2012 as Line Tech Energy, the firm evolved into Koala Solar in 2015. The company provides residential and commercial solar systems in Perth and the South West region, with a wide range of solar panels, inverters and batteries. It's a Fronius Solutions Partner and Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer. 

Koala Solar also provides solar hot water solutions, including heat pumps.

Great Service

After having a negative experience with another Solar installation company I turned to Koala Solar. The customer service was excellent, the girls in the office made the paperwork process seamless and the installation was very efficient and tidy. There was one fastener that wasn’t down fully and the guys came back and fixed it promptly. A great company that delivers excellent service and quality.

Great buying and installation experience.

The process with Koala Solar was great from start to finish. Effortless sales and quoting experience and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process. Their pricing was fair and transparent and they came out with a better deal than some others wanted for smaller systems of the same brand/models - and they could install it sooner than some of the others.

Arrived exactly at the time/date in a punctual manner and their team was immediately at work setting up the system in an efficient, tidy and professional manner. Everything went up in less than half a day as there was a team of guys all working on a different job so there werent any delays. The guys were great, kept me informed through the day and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a new system.

Fantastic Customer Service and Seamless Installation

We had been looking and reviewing the solar and battery installation for some 12 months and had spoken with many companies along the way. Some very good and some not so good. It was all becoming very complexed and confusing and whilst we thought we had final decided on an installer, we spoke with a family member who had just finished having their solar system installed on their two storey home.

They detailed what interaction they had with the team at Koala Solar and the support and advice they had received. So we decided that we would talk to one more installer, and that was Koala Solar. We are so glad we did, not only were they able to work with us through the number of questions we had, they were patience and very supportive of our requirements. The team at Koala Solar went through the options and system available and provided strong documentation is support of the proposed system. Their Team was not pushy or dismissal of our questions and thoughts around the best system for us.

We finally decided on a great system with top 5 rated products, that came in cheaper then the bigger installer that we had contacted.

On install date, the team were professional and well presented. They walked us through the whole system and we are more than happy with the system.

Well done Koala Solar, and I would strongly recommend them to all who ask.

Fantastic job

This is the second time I have commissioned Koala Solar to install a solar panel system to my home. They are exceptionally efficient and organised from the quoting stage, right through to the installation. The office staff are courteous and very helpful and the installers were just so efficient and knowledgeable that it was installed in no time. Was shown the website and installed the app so I can see what is happening with the energy use. Such a credit to their employer. Quality Installer

Koala Solar is a very professional, quality installer. The sales process was thorough and all grid connection and rebate applications were completed well in advance of installation. The install crew were very polite, on time and tidy, clearing the site upon completion.

Koala Solar have become very busy and in great demand, so the handover process was a bit rushed. However, Customer Service was available to answer any additional questions. Therefore, I would be very happy to recommend Koala Solar.

Review

We had a previous system installed by Koala Solar at our previous address. We were happy with their product and customer service then so it really was a no brainer to go with a reliable company.
Once again we were very impressed with the customer service from start to finish. The two guys who installed the panels and inverter were very efficient, made no mess and explained how the system works and helped set up the app for monitoring the system.

Exactly how I wanted it.

Quote I requested was complex but Koala managed my expectations very well.
Koala was courteous and informative, came a did a pre install and listened to my concerns and tailor made the Tesla PW 3 so it showed no conduits and a floating switch just like the glossy brochures.
Delivery was a bit of a wait which is understandable considering the government incentives were being offered at the time. Yet delivery day was met and install was completed on the very day.
All the paperwork required for connection was handled with minimal required interaction which was a bonus.

And a very pleasing outcome as well as I received my first full usage account from Synergy since install and is well onto the way of a very fast payback.

Honest price and honest service. Hi 5!

I recently had a 12kW system and 32kWh Sigenergy battery storage installed by Koala Solar, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I did a lot of my own research beforehand and knew exactly which hardware I wanted. After finding Koala Solar on the manufacturer’s preferred installer list, I reached out via their online form.

Compared to other companies I dealt with, Koala was a breath of fresh air. I had other sales reps being incredibly pushy, trying to steer me toward different equipment, or providing quotes that were wildly unrealistic, where some were even $10,000 more expensive for a similar setup.

Koala was the total opposite. They were prompt, honest, and very competitive with their pricing. Even as I evolved my installation plan and requested amendments to the quote, they were responsive and patient. There was a bit of a lead time for the install, but that is clearly a result of their popularity and the current rebate demand. It was well worth the wait.

The installation was completed yesterday by the owner, Stu, and his team. They were on time, professional, and all-round lovely fellas. It was reassuring to see that the entire crew were qualified electricians, which gave me a lot of confidence that it wasn't some fly-by-night operation.

The system is performing brilliantly. Watching the harvest and storage levels today has been great. My only regret is not going even bigger on the battery! If your budget allows, I’d suggest getting as much storage as you can while the rebates are still active. I would highly recommend Stu and the Koala Solar team to any friends or family looking for a quality install.

Seamless install, excellent communication, and high-quality workmanship

Koala Solar provided excellent service from quoting through to commissioning. The salesperson gave clear, practical technical advice over the phone and by email, and the admin/scheduling team were responsive and flexible in accommodating changes.

I previously had to cancel an installation I’d signed for and was not penalised. Nearly a year later I was able to restart the process and move forward with an updated system, which I appreciated. Before finalising the decision, a co-owner/supervisor visited the site to assess the house and confirm the installation plan.

On the day, the installation was carried out by the same supervisor and their team. The work was completed neatly and efficiently, commissioning was smooth, and the finish was clean and well-presented. All rubbish was removed and the team made a clear effort to make the installation look tidy and professional.

Very happy with Koala Solar.

I found Koala Solar very helpful. They were happy to answer my questions when I rang them. They were very knowledgeable about the government rebates and helped me through the process if I had questions. They arrive on scheduled date and time, and did a professional job on the install. It was no problem to install the components and battery where I prefered them, and they were the cheapest quote. They arrange for the grid and meter upgrade and connection.

I have had the system now for 3 months, and it has work as designed and without fault. The size of system that Koala recommended was spot on for our family usage, and we are exporting to the grid everyday.

Problem free, from quote to instalation.

This was the third time we have worked with Koala Solar. They Installed our solar system, our heat pump hot water system and recently they installed our Solar battery. I am happy to give this company 5 stars from the initial contact requesting a quote, to the day of installation. They arrived at the time they had indicated, and their technicians were knowledgeable, friendly and polite. I found this company to be professional and reliable at all times, and would have no problems in recommending Koala Solar to anyone who is considering any work of this nature.

7.6 kW solar system with 16.12 kWh battery storage

The process for getting our quote was straight forward, we simply contacted Koala Solar, met on-site with their representative, discussed options, the process for state & federal rebates, financing considerations, and what size system would best address our needs. We received our quote shortly afterwards and engaged there services. Koala Solar came highly recommended from other family members that have used their services and we would highly recommend them too.

The overall installation went very well and was much quicker than we anticipated. The crew was very punctual and great to work with at our home. The overall installation was completed in just under 4 hours, which included an excellent start-up experience. Our property was very tidy when they left.

We look forward to working with them again when we take the next step to adding an EV charging station.

Highly Efficient Team

The Koala team is highly efficient. The 14.25kW solar system with 24kWh battery was installed in less than 5 hours. Amazing work!

Very straight forward quoting process, after all relevant information was provided to Sean, a formal quote with all analysis was provided. So, it was a matter of fine tuning with various options available and made a decision. Altogether I received 3 quotes from Perth's top installers, all with similar specification. Koala was chosen as their quote was the most competitive.

The Koala team turned up at 7am as agreed, worked their way through and had everything wrapped up by 11:30am. Site was left clean and tidy , phone app was setup and demonstrated. How good could that be !

Fronius Reserva 18.9 Kwh install

Installed in Nov 25 a Fronius Reserva 18.9 Kwh battery on top of a 2023 Fronius 5 Kw GEN 24 with 6.6 Kw of Trina panels. Both of these installs were done expertly by Koala Solar. Whilst not necessarily the cheapest option, their team of installers and office staff are second to none and I have no hesitation in recommending them to others. There was also a Fronius Wattpilot 22 Kw charger installed by another firm in 2024, due to lower quote than Koala's - in retrospect this was an error, as it would have been much better to have the whole system installed by one company.

Koala solar install

Just had our solar panels installed by Koala solar and they have been helpful in terms of queries and communication throughout. We were abit unsure on which company to go with or the brand at the beginning but going with Koala solar definitely helped eased our concerns. They were punctual on the day of installation and the guy showed us how the app works and gave advise on how to utilise the solar. So far, it’s been a great experience with Koala Solar. I would highly recommend going with Koala solar after all it’s something that sticks to the house for a long time.

Job well done

From the outset a very professional approach. Any queries I had in the sales/quoting period were handled well indeed. Ongoing communication was excellent.

On installation day, the friendly crew arrived within the specified time frame and immediately set to work.

3 1/2 hours later the job was done and help was overfed and accepted in setting up the app and pc and interpreting the system power flowchart.

After job clean up was good.

Professional from start to end! PV, battery and EV charger installation

We had many questions at the beginning of the process, and received prompt and helpful responses. The scheduling team Kristie and Bri kept us updated and rescheduled as promised, when (official) approval was delayed. Stu and Callum were super punctual on installation day, reconfirmed our preferred location for battery and EV charger, and were very organised in completing the job. Battery Installation Returning Customer

Koala Solar have just returned to my property and installed a 13.8kwh battery to the solar installation they installed for me 10 months earlier.

I've been very happy with my initial solar panel/inverter installation from Koala so when I was ready to add a battery to the system it was a no brainer for me; I went back to Koala.

I initially chose Koala for my solar electricity needs following a recommendation from my regular and trusted electrician and once again I'm extremely happy with all aspects of this new installation at my property and Koala's recommendation for type/size/quality of the battery that would complement the existing solar equipment and suit my energy requirements.

With Koala I'm comfortable I have a quality installation, adaptive to my needs and I've paid a fair price for it. Most importantly the installers are genuinely nice guys who arrived when they said they would and did a great job.

Fantastic experience with Koala Solar

The quoting process was by far the best and easiest out of all the companies I had dealings with.
They gave me a fair price for exactly what I was looking for, no dramas at all. During the lead up to installation I was kept in the loop via email as to what was happening in regard to all the dealings western power and synergy. I didn’t have to do anything. On the day of installation the guys were on time polite and did a great job, no problems at all.
After sales service was off the chart, fantastic.

Great experience from quote to switch-on

I recently decided to install a solar + battery system thanks to the federal and state rebates, so I shopped around and collected several quotes. Koala Solar immediately stood out from the pack. Their no-nonsense, straight-forward approach (with zero confusing jargon or pushy sales tactics) made the whole process easy to understand. Their quote was also more competitive than the others I received and I really appreciated that they use their own in-house team rather than subcontractors.

Sean did an excellent job walking me through the options and tweaking the system to suit my specific needs. I had a lot of questions (and a few changes along the way!) and he was always patient, clear and responsive. Bri and Shyniah kept me in the loop leading up to installation day so I knew exactly what to expect.

Stu (the owner) and his team arrived at 7am on the dot and were super friendly, polite and professional. They talked me through the process and kept disruption to an absolute minimum. My power was off for only about 30 minutes, which is impressive given it was a full solar, inverter, gateway and battery install. The whole job was completed in about 3 hours and the workmanship was clean and tidy. Stu’s enthusiasm and passion for solar is obvious, and he even helped me get the Sigenergy app set up and enabled Modbus so I could integrate everything into Home Assistant - a big plus for someone who likes to nerd out on the data and automations!

The system has been running perfectly so far. Despite the overcast weather, five days in and we haven’t needed to import anything from the grid - even overnight. I highly recommend Koala Solar to anyone in Perth looking for a quality installation at a fair price. Great, personalised service from start to finish.

Seamless Battery Install - Highly Recommended!

We wanted to capitalize on the battery rebate by adding a battery to our existing solar system. The team at Koala advised us on our best options, providing clear guidance tailored to our setup.
Having had a great experience with them during our initial 6.6 kWh solar installation on a single phase with a Fronius Gen24 in 2023, we felt confident going ahead with the battery installation, assured we were in safe hands with their ongoing support.

We couldn't be happier with the outcome. The 16.6 kWh battery size is perfect for our needs, and the installation looks incredibly neat. We found the entire process, from the initial quote to the final installation, to be friendly, professional, and completely hassle-free.

My solar system is going to be installed in February. Koala solar recommended me the three phase system which I think is the best for my house.
Price is in the Solar quotes recommended range and they are willing to keep existing 5kw panels and add 6.6 kW extra panels.

Koala Solar installation of Sigenery system

The quote came through with all the options I requested and was cheaper than other quotes I received.

The installation went really well, the guys turned up on time and got to work right away. They kept us informed throughout the installation process. They were polite and thorough and did a great job of cleaning up after they were finished, despite the difficulty of the site access. The whole process went much quicker than I expected.

Once the installation was finished the guys explained how it all worked and talked us through how to download and use the App.

The people were all friendly, efficient and courteous during the whole process from quote to installation. Instal of my FranklinWH aPower 14.366Kw Battery

Once again, Koala Solar have lived up to their reputation as a friendly, helpful and efficient administration and works scheduling team. (they had already installed my Solar panels and inverter 9 years ago)

Today, Koala Solar installed a FranklinWH aPower solar battery and A-Gate at my Australind residence.

Couldn't be more happy. Answered all of my questions and left me feeling very content with the work and the product they installed.

You won't get better service than what these proud people provide.
