Hobbs is a family-owned business that has proudly served the Blue Mountains community for over 40 years.
Our in-house electrical team includes CEC-accredited solar installers, battery and off-grid specialists, as well as several Level 2 qualified electricians, ensuring we can meet a wide range of electrical needs. Hobbs Electrical is very well versed in the solar space with many installs over the past 3 years covering both grid connected and off grid set ups, AC and DC Battery installs and predominately ENPHASE and SUNGROW inverter options with Trina and REC panels.
By combining their skills, experience, knowledge, and positive attitudes with our extensive range of tools and equipment, we deliver a level of service that is truly unmatched.
Located in Blaxland we serve a wide area, including the entire Blue Mountains right out to Lithgow and Oberon, the Nepean and also the Hawkesbury regions.

Professional, on time, helpful and good value
The team at Hobbs were great. The boys were so professional and actually showed up on time, their quote was fair and the products they used were top notch.Their knowledge was also incredible, they answered all my questions, didn't make me feel like an absolute dummy and if they didn't know the answer, I got a call later on with it.
I also loved how the guys were super supportive of a ground mounted system as the roof space on our Tiny house just wasn't going to cut it.
Would recommend any day.

Great to Deal with
Best thing is communication. I haven't found myself wanting to know "what's going on?" as they always kept us informed.As we were going from a single phase service to a three phase service, there was a lot to do. We also requested service on our property to be placed underground.
We, at the same time, were expanding our solar and getting batteries installed. We also had a three phase car charger installed. All this was done with no fuss. When I had questions, these were always answered with honesty. There were a couple of questions they didn't know the answer to at that time, but were courteous enough to find out for us. At no time did they try to "bullsh*t" their way through.
All their staff were always very courteous, polite and thoughtful.
If they were experiencing any delays, of which there were only a couple of, they always let me know before they were due to arrive.
At all times they were tidy and if things had to be moved, always replace items as close practical.
At all stages, our site was left clean and tidy.
I would highly recommend their services.
N.B. I would need a drone to photograph the solar panels as half of them are not visible from the ground, hence no solar panel photos.

TOP COMPANY
Right from my initial phone call to make an appt this was an excellent experience. The Sales Representative was very pleasant and totally in charge of his brief, answering all questions in terms that I could understand. He took photos of the roof and asked where I would like the panels. The quote arrived the next day, with loads of very interesting information about the various aspects of solar panels.The installation went extremely well with the installers arriving a little before time and were happy to begin straight away. They were polite, respectful and totally cleaned up and took packaging etc away with them. I was even asked when it would be convenient for me to have the electricity turned off for a while.
The head electrician was very patient, and again polite and explained the app, the information on it and showed me how to use the charger. Hobbs also organised the grid connection so I did not have to do anything.
A great company to deal with and I would recommend Hobbs Electrical installation without any hesitation.

Excellent service and communication
We are very happy with our new Enphase system recommended by Rhys. The Hobbs installers Tom and Zak were on time and provided excellent service. They were very efficient, polite and completed it all in a day.14 October 2024
Highly recommend Hobbs Electrical
I’m pleased to share that the performance of our recently installed 9kW ENPHASE solar system has exceeded our expectations!We want to commend the tradespeople who commissioned and installed the system. Their expertise and clear communication about the operation were invaluable. The system is paired with 2 TESLA Powerwall 2 batteries, a decision that has proven to be very effective. The setup allows us to maintain a virtually cost-neutral supply of electricity during non-solar hours. Additionally, we’ve configured our hot water heating to optimize solar energy usage.
According to our grid supplier's website, our daily cost is currently 0.74 cents, and our projected quarterly bill is just $58.61—an excellent outcome.
It has been a pleasure working with Hobbs Electrical. They have kept us well-informed throughout the entire installation process. Solar power relies heavily on sound advice and reliable technical expertise, and we found both with Hobbs Electrical. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the results and highly recommend their services.
