19 months later we asked Owen: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
The 2.2 KW system we had installed in March 2011 has performed well. We have averaged just under 9 Kw/h generated per day. Although this is under the quoted 10 Kw/h, it may be due to more cloudy days than average. The problem we are currently having with Genesis Solar Group is a lack of service. In March 2012, we asked Genesis to install and additional 4 x 190 watt panels to our system. We were assured they would be install within 2 to 3 weeks so we paid the required 10 % deposit. We have been waiting since then. it is now October 2012.
We have rung Genesis on many occasions in the past 6 months only to be told they are having difficulty sourcing the correct type of panels. I called them again a few weeks ago to suggest they consider alternatives such as removing 4 of our existing 12 panels and suppling and installing 6 x 250 watt panels.(our inverter has 2 inputs so i would think this should work?) The other alternative is to remove all the old panels and replace them with 250 watt ones. After all...we have paid money (deposit) for the addition. surely if can't supply what they sold us, they should consider alteernatives. I am still waiting for a reply.
