Decided to go with a local firm rather than Adelaide based. I chose Gambier Electronics after local feedback, and as they have been installing systems for several years. I am a bit nervous about new companies setting up to cash in on gov't. incentives. (Pink bats debacle and school projects come to mind). I was offered choice of components and pricing.
As promised they installed before Xmas (8 weeks from contract signing), kept in touch prior to installation and did a great job.
First day of operation - 47kWh from 6.56kW system. OK, for Mount Gambier.
Highly recommended installer.

The above responses may change in the near future if it all falls apart!!Thank you for your assistance - I was able to ascertain that the local price was in the ball park.
Re below: first name and state only thanks.
16 months later we asked David: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
So far performance has exceeded expectations. We had planned to 'Cover the Dollars', however we are nearly covering the kWhrs, which is great as we are an all electric household and have one cheque in the bank and another on its way. Payback will be in approx. 6 years.30 May 2012

I only wanted to upgrade from a 2.57 to a 3 kw so I only needed one panel to be installed and the only person to get in touch with me wanted to pull the existing system out and replace the whole thing and charge me thousands. The extra panel was supplied and installed for $650 without a problem. Original ratingsPanel rating: 4/5

8 months later we asked Keith: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
Whole system is working good, but the electricity retailer has dropped the FIT from 23 cents to 6 cents so the system as a means to lower the price of our power bill each quarter is virtually non existent.I wouldn't install solar now on the price we get. It will never pay for itself in my life time.
