Disappointed
Sale/quoting process was good, that’s why we choose them. Had to wait for months to get it installed and then longer to get the smart meter. John from Ekonomix should have told me to change the smart meter before the solar installation.Installation was done ok, but one of the electrician used a sofa bed with his boots on to install the inverter !
Bits of sharp aluminium were blown on the lawn! Since then I had another solar system installed on our main house and this was like a dream installation, on time, good value, good quality and excellent service! I used Lakeside Solar in Pambula! No more Solar Quotes for me.

Very disappointed
After paying the deposit, John never called, nor emailed me. I called regularly to know the date of installation. He responded after a while to tell me a date for 2 weeks later but nothing happened.I was about to cancel the job when he called to tell me that the installer would come on the 15/12/20 which was cancelled for the next day, about 3 months after paying a deposit.
The system was installed on the 16th, the electrician didn’t bother taking his boots off to get in the house and even climbed on the sofa bed! I had to ask him to get a ladder. When they left, I had to pick up their rubbish and metal bits from the garden. John was supposed to come and show us the working of the system. We waited and he came at 5 pm when we had friends visiting, of course he didn’t tell us any timing. He said he would be back in a few days.
He never came back.
I informed our power supplier immediately to change the meter, but due to John late install, we still are not connected.
I cannot recommend him and we definitely won’t use him for our main house this year.

Absolutely happy. Initial delay was a bit frustrating but now it is up and running I couldn't be happier.02 March 2020
Professional Installation
Quoting process was informative and made it easy to understand. The installation crew led by Michael was very professional. Kept me informed of what they would be doing when. Cleaned up after and helped me get setup on both phone and computer to see how the system was performing.Panel rating: 4/5

Best purchase I ever made!
I got more than half a dozen quotes, not just from Solarquotes, but also from some of the bigger companies. I'd done a lot of research, enabling me to ask quite detailed questions, some of which could not be answered by the bigger outfits! Ekonomix seemed to have detailed answers that aligned with what I had found out.The installation happened within a week of paying the deposit and I am thrilled with the outcome - with a 6.5kw solar array and a 13.2kw battery, I am more than self-sufficient in the summer months - we'll wait to see what happens in winter.
Customer service was good until I paid the deposit. I had hoped for a call to see if I was satisfied, but got nothing. Otherwise, they were great.

Great attention to customer service
Quoting process was a nit slower than the opposition but worth the wait. Communication after placing the order and Installation process were both professional, prompt and attentive to detail.09 August 2019
I am very happy with the system so far.
The team from Ekonomix did a great job,on time and were very professional.
They even took down the old system and were going to recycle it to another location.
All in all a very good experience.

Yes. The problem is with the the energy companies and getting a reasonable figure for energy supplied.05 July 2018
Hasn't been installed yet but they were incredibly helpful and made some concessions so that we could lock in the quote I received.

The company went out of their way to ensure that we didn't lose our current feed in tariff and even supplied the minimum required battery at cost to ensure the installers would comply with legislated requirements relating to modifying existing systems.8 months later we asked Rob: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
Yes. Last quarter we got a credit of $114. No bill to pay. System working as per installer's predictions.23 April 2018
We have a problem with a flashing light on the inverter, as yet not remedied. If this is fixed we will be happy. If we have a prolonged battle we will not be at all happy.

Re our Off-grid Solar System:
The service from Finn was excellent, but we found the overall experience very trying.
Apart from Ekonomix, we had to make numerous phone calls just to obtain quotes. We really wanted to try "Tesla" or similar, but couldn't even get a quote, just lots of promises and lots of excuses.
It would have been helpful if all the companies that finally quoted had used a similar base and format , but there was a lot of work required to adjust the figures to get an apples to apples comparison, Finn's website was very helpful in this respect.
The biggest disappointment was one, who sounded quite efficient at first, but kept putting off the actual quote for various reasons. We waited a full month for a quote but then decided if their sales service is so terrible, it would be folly to buy from them anyway.
Ekonomix was just the opposite, pleasant personnel, excellent service and very easy to deal with. They also rang back as promised and kept us informed of their progress with the quotation. The system is due to be installed in two weeks and we feel confident that the installation and after sales service will be as promised.

Ekonomix was not the cheapest, but had the best customer ratings to cost of system ratio. The sales people were not pushy and did not seem as dodgy as the cheapest quote I got. Very efficient installation service.

From our quote to the installation was only 2 weeks which was very satisfying. All our questions were answered and explained in a professional manner by the sales person, all up and running ready for summer couldn't be happier.

There are some hidden traps with installations. I have an old house which had a mess of a switchboard. Fortunately I had done some homework and went in with eyes wide open.
I secured an independent opinion and a quote for a switchboard renewal from a local electrician well before getting the solar quotes. Economix expressed doubt that their electrical subcontractor could work with my old switchboard so arranged for an inspection from their electrical contractor which confirmed my fear. Economix then assisted in me getting a more favorable price for the switchboard renewal from their electrical subcontractor and sharpened their price to alleviate the overall extra cost. That is why I rate their service highly.
I settled on an SMA Sunny Boy inverter after reading a number of reviews. I enquired with SMA Australia regarding bluetoothing info from it to my laptop. Received a prompt reply from them and they provided me with a free copy of their "Sunny Explorer" monitoring software. Another good experience.
I also rate the information on your site highly.
