" We have recently had City to Surf Solar install a 5kw solar electrical system on our house in order to offset our huge electrical bills. We chose City to Surf because they used top quality components, and were competitively priced. But most of all we chose them because of the way we were treated by Emma and Christian who were so helpful and friendly."
" Pritchett Electrical (now City to Surf Solar) carried out the installation of solar panels, inverter and monitoring devices at our school, Clifton Springs Primary. Christian and Emma were fantastic to deal with; patient in dealing with delays at our end, professional and efficient with their work on site, and very helpful with explanations and after sales service."

Original Review on 25-03-2020:
Great installation - 1kW per hour!
CTSS provided a detailed and comprehensive design service and gave a competitive price over others offering identical components. Lead times were OK and installation took just over 6 hours for a 6.4kW system on a two storey townhouse. Having a team of 6 meant that there was plenty of activity throughout the day.5 months later we asked David: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"
The system has performed better than the installers estimated and is significantly reducing power bills.12 August 2019
Cleaned up and removed all boxes after installation
Very neatly installed inverter
Good explanation of the system set up
System took 3 months before it could be installed due to number of systems being purchased at the time
Shame we couldn't claim Vic governments rebate scheme as its means tested
Generating some electricity but now winter so not huge amount

The information given along the was was very helpful. The installation happened ahead of schedule and was seamless - minimal disturbance and a very clean worksite once they had finished. And finally, the documentation given after installation was perfect for me to apply for the rebate.

We chose city to surf as they are local (ie almost next door) and my research indicated they have an excellent reputation for both domestic and commercial/govt installations.8 months later we asked Sandy: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

We were always going to go with solar on our new house. Your Facebook posts provided us with valuable information and helped us with our choices.
Thank you.

City to Surf solar didn't quote until they came to consult with me first. They came to the first meeting with a picture that showed my worst case scenario with a shading issue we had because of the neighbours tree. We spoke about being able to position the panels to the front of the house.
What stood them apart from the rest was the attention to detail.

Still waiting for distributor to configure metering and with only 3 days of operation, it will be interesting to see how system performance matches predictions!

The company kept me informed of the installation details and the installation team was on time friendly and completed the job in the one day. The company has been great at assisting with all the paperwork associated with the installation, inspection and feed-in requirements.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends in the Geelong area.

1. How many kWh will a 2kW unit deliver in winter, in summer?
2. How long will it take Powercorp to install the smart meter (or whatever it is)?
3. If I accumulate an export value to the grid over a year, will I get cash (from whom)? or will it just be a credit against future use?
4. What are the performance experiences of homes that have installed units?
5. How many users have a net export to the grid? And how big are their systems?
6. We did discuss going with another company that phoned us, but their numbers were too good to believe so we went with Surf to City as their numbers seemed more realistic.

Solar panels don’t work
Solar panels don’t workI am honestly surprised by all the positive reviews. My experience has been anything but. I have had my panels installed for over a month and they still are not working properly. I had a 4.44kWh system installed and the most it generates (on a sunny day at midday) is 0.9kWh. I’ve asked repeatedly for the company to explain to me why this is the case, but keep getting fobbed off and told “the system is working as expected”. Great customer service until the deposit is paid.
