Fantastic company

Aussie Wide Solar did exactly what they said they would do and their information was the best of the seven quotes that we obtained. They did an excellent installation and the products were top of the range. Overall would use and recommend them to anyone

Top notch installer

The whole process with Aussie Wide was smooth and efficient. Warren is the owner and does most of the quotes himself. They all really know their products and offer good quality at a reasonable price. They certainly beat out the other 4 installers I got quotes from, and they were local to Newcastle which is a plus. Their install on the day was well executed and they left everything neat and tidy.
All in all, I recommend them very highly.

12 months on............

Originally got quote Dec '22. and arranged to install eo Jan '23. So after many phone calls/emails system was finally installed eo March. Only 2 month wait after initial install date. As I was going overseas, system only produced (nothing to battery) Battery wasn't installed properly for power outages (x2 outages battery didn't kick in) wired up incorrectly. Simple test wasn't done on install. Now I have the battery going offline. x10 times since Jan-Feb '24. Offline from 60min to 7hr. System either resets or if home and I catch it to reset. Supposedly its a "software update" done Feb or Mar (no feedback)
As of today 6/4, battery has gone off line 2nd (5hr), 4th (1.25hr) and 5th (10hr). and a communication "drop out" 3rd (1hr) all reset self except 5th.

How was the sales/quoting process? - ok
Polite? - yes
Tidy? - yes
Punctual? - after calling, yes
How was the customer service? - good

Can’t complain about after sales service- there is none!

The system was installed quickly, I paid promptly before the extra aerial was added to allow me to monitor the system.
Big mistake, I usually don’t pay before the job has been finished...
6 months later and numerous phone calls and I still can’t monitor the system
I’ve given up asking
I’m trying to find someone to finish the job
Don’t pay them before the job is complete.
Very disappointed
Don’t deal with them
Tim.

A disgrace to the industry

Aussie Wide Solar quoted my Villa. They boast 11yrs in solar with thousands of installations experience. My Villa has a Raked Roof/Ceiling above the lounge room which lacks insulation. Realising that solar panels would insulate the Raked/Roof whilst generating electricity, I decided to go ahead. On the 22/Oct.2021, I signed AWS's contract to provide me with18 [email protected] for $5,500. I am an 86yr old pensioner and I have prostate cancer, this solar setup is to enable my wife to better manage financially after i'm gone. The Raked Roof/Ceiling, is supported by Eight Sturdy Exposed Beams, 9" inches by 2". The installation team consisting 5 members arrived some weeks later and began working.

After installing 13 panels they stopped and informed me that, "the Raked part of the Roof/Ceiling isn't strong enough to support the remaining 5 panels, but 13 panels is enough to ensure you of no more electricity bills. I pointed out the obvious strength of the Exposed Beams, but to no avail. They then packed up and departed. I later learned they they had another job in the locality, so I guess that was the reason.

I received no help with the metering or the inverter. All this left me in shock, words failed me, my head was spinning I just couldn't process the events and why was this happening to me.

In the Eighties I had a builders licence Lic No25721. I know the strength of the Roof/Ceiling and how it's laid out with beams, battens and tiles etc. so I complained to AWS. His reply contained some nonsense about being lined with asbestos and a weak roof, along with some other bluff.

All 33 Villas in this Village are Quality Built, Modern, and Architectural Designed. I would like to see the disgraceful treatment handed to me by AWS addressed. I am Old, a bit slow but I am still intelligent and not the doddering old man he assumed me to be.

Best Price, Best System for money by far the neatest installation in our area.

when Warren came to give the quote, he was full of knowledge and ideas to get the most efficient system for us. when the quote arrived he had actually taken the time to prepare three quotes of different quality and performance for us to choose from. After we had chosen a system and paid the deposit, we thought it was taking a long time to get an install date, but now understand that it is very difficult for them to predict as the weather plays a huge part in their scheduling. when the installers arrived they were all very punctual and polite. the first day was spoilt by the weather and for safety reasons they had to pull up stumps early. the following day the weather was a lot kinder and the install was completed. since we have had our system installed I have been taking notice of other systems around the suburb. the Aussie Wide install is by far the neatest looking installation I have seen. most other installations you can see bits of galvanised hardware under and protruding from the ends of the panel they nearly all have bits of electrical equipment visible from the street. Aussie wide used black hardware that blends in with the panels and the ends are flush with the panels, so no ugly bits to see.
for the record we had the following system installed.
12.87 kw Jinko tiger all black panels + optimizer linked to a 10 kw Solar Edge Inverter. great job very happy customer

Be careful what you pay for

The sales team were efficient professional and promised a lot. Once we paid the deposit we had to chase them for dates of installation. We had to pay the full amount owing before we could be connected and we’re still chasing them to finalise. Wouldn’t recommend this company

Integrating new with old

Aussie Wide Solar (AWS) and one other insisted on a site inspection before quoting. In total I had eight companies offer a system.

Having plenty of shed roof space, AWS confirmed that my existing 4.5kW 5 year old system was contributing well and proposed it should stay- the only ones to do so!

Several options were provided with a new 13.32kW Longi panels/SolarEdge inverter system with optimisers and web monitoring being installed alongside. In spite of inclement weather the installation team got us up and running in 2 days.

I have no hesitation in recommending AWS.

A Pleasure to Deal With

Adrian from Aussie Wide Solar was very easy to deal with, was very knowledgeable without any sales push. From the time I paid the deposit the was excellent communication. The installers arrived at the organised time and were polite, experienced and left a tidy workplace. After the panels and battery were installed I was give a very thorough run through on how to read the battery's screen. Wonderful job by everybody. Would highly recommend them.

Got great service to get installed but OMG when you have issues you will wait weeks!!

The sales process was very smooth and helpful.
Installers where fantastic and got the panels up in a very timely manner
We did not get any help with the grid connection we had to attend to this ourselves.
A year after purchase the panels have failed and we have chased for a month to get some service and just got the complete run around, being told they would come then just don't turn up and we have to ring to find out where they are. We thought they were the best company at the time but found out it is only a sales pitch!!

Original Review on 15-05-2019:

We haven't had the panels installed yet as we are waiting to sign contract on Monday.
Thank you for your advice. I would of liked to have used one of the companies that you recommended to us but they were just too dear.

Thank you

Highly professional and friendly crew, very knowledgable, no expense spared with resources or crew numbers - Excellent all round! Highly recommend

Excellent from very start to finish. Adrian (one of the owners) visited me and discussed every element of the potential install, inspected meter box, house infrastructure and property, and was friendly and approachable, but not pushy at all. Very nice chap. I did lots of research and found the products I liked (solaredge), but still had some questions about Enphase, net metering and other issues. Adrian was very helpful and provided professional advice, without being pushy. I chose solaredge in the end (good compromise between string system and micros) as we have two roof spaces, partially shaded, neither north facing - I ended up with 9.9kW of Suntech panels with an 8kW solarEdge inverter. The install was excellent. They arrived on time, with four crew members, friendly, courteous and professional at all times. They explained the options at all times, helped out with fixing a completely unrelated roof leak that was identified and kept everything tidy. Due to the nature of the size and location of the roof they had to return again to complete the fit, this time with 6 professional crew (no expense spared with resourcing and crew numbers). They appeared safe at all times and did not take any unnecessary risks to endanger the lives of the crew that I could see, including briefly stopping work due to rain and the very slippery and dangerous nature of my tile roof. Very glad to see they took care and due diligence rather than endangering the livelihoods of their crew by rushing the job. Two of them even returned a third day to finally connect the system, explain the workings of the inverter and functionality and obtain final sign-off. Fantastic from start to finish, great price, great service and very friendly, helpful and professional. Always on time and left the house tidy and respected. I even invited them in for a couple of beers at the end, to show my gratitude. PV system has been running for a couple of weeks now and all good. Very exciting (and addictive) to watch the SolarEdge app, with realtime data. Recommend AussieWide solar.

I have recently had a system installed by Aussie Wide Solar. I wanted to use a local company for the installation. Adrian was the salesman/owner I dealt with. He was very knowledgeable and prepared to answer my many questions. He did not rely just on satellite imaging but visited me at my home on several occasions to explain exactly how we would go about addressing my needs. I did not want the panels installed on my house but rather on my workshop/garage in the back yard, some 7-8 metres from the back of the house. The rooves on the workshop face NE and SW. Whilst the orientations were not ideal and installation on the garage, out of the norm he had no hesitation in informing me it could be done. He installed a 9kw system comprising a 10kw SolarEdge inverter and 27 x 335 watt LG Neon2 optimised panels. I dug the required trench (to save some money) and Adrian installed the required cabling. His crew was very professional and courteous. Their workmanship was of an extremely high standard and on completion everything was left neat and tidy. I must make particularly mention of Sean, the electrician and Matt, his assistant - they were wonderful. The panels are working extremely well, in fact better than what Adrian had conservatively predicted. I am producing approximately 55KWh per day and whilst this will drop back substantially in winter, I am still very happy with the systems output. I have no hesitation in recommending Adrian and Aussie Wide Solar to anyone in the Newcastle area who is contemplating installing a solar system

I found Adrian the most obliging with his time. He explained everything, customised a system to our needs and once we got to installation, his crew were all wonderful, polite and respectful and went about their work with minimum fuss. Overall, once pawing through the quotation process, dealing with Adrian and his team was surprisingly easy.

There are a few companies out there using pressure salesmanship continually phoning and offering the "BEST" deals . It's amazing how they can change their best deals to better a rival . They start by offering low quality components, and as you become more conversant with systems the systems become better quality . I wonder how many people end up buying a system without doing any research and get ripped off . All I would say is do your own research , your website provides fantastic information with up to date technology and is so easy to access .Do'nt be influenced by a phone salesman who is only interested in making sales and does'nt care what he sells you .

I've always said if you want quality you need to pay for it. In saying that you have to make sure you are comparing apples with apples and brands with brands. I based my system with the provider to give me the best option not only for now but to accommodate for future add-on's etc. They looked at what will get me the outcomes I required and proposed various brands to suit my needs that were in the quality range required. These guys committed to their promise and the quality of work from the installation to the how-to-use was very professional and done without any of the typical hassles with sub-contractors etc. Have and would recommend Aussie Wide Solar whenever asked.

Your website was invaluable in helping with important decisions about our solar system and installation. It was extremely informative as I had very little under standingof solar systems.

I declined 2 quotes euro solar as they were rude and kept pushing the other was true value as they had previously been fined for misleading. The other quotes I got were far too expensive. Aussie Wide were very professional and straight upfront and had a good quality and good price and even trusted me with a full installation before being paid. I would use them again.

Warren the salesman was very informative from Aussie wide solar, Wayne from Go Solar was good too. Not much difference in the prices and from what I have read not much difference in the panels being supplied.

Only went with Aussie wide because they were a little cheaper. Haven't had them installed yet.

Mark Group salesman was a bit pushy to sign me up there and then. Didn't work (hate pushy salesmen)!
