Hydrotherm DYNAMIC/X8
The DYNAMIC/X8 from Hydrotherm makes things a little confusing as there's also a DYNAMIC/X8 under the Aquatech brand. The Hydrotherm version has 260L storage capacity and among its features:
- Incorporated 1800W backup electric element
- R290 natural refrigerant (propane)
- Vitreous enamel tank
- Toshiba compressor
- Tank Recovery: 4 hours, 20 minutes (with 40°C water temperature rise at 19°C air temperature)
- Coefficient of Performance (COP): 4.15 (at parameters above)
- 5 heating modes, including timer (good for use with a solar power system).
- Smart touch screen controller
- Non-sacrificial impressed current anode
- Noise rating of 43dB(A)
The single-phase Dynamic X8 from Hydrotherm measures 620 mm x 1800 mm and weighs 118 kilograms when empty. It's supplied with a 3 pin earthed plug and may be run off a power socket where such connection is permitted, or can be hard-wired where it isn't. The Hydrotherm has been tested down to -10°C
Aquatech Vs. Hydrotherm - What's The Difference?
The main difference is the controller interface enabling owners to switch between modes. While Aquatech's all-in-one heat pumps have an app and on-screen display; the Hydrotherm only has the latter. The warranty is also longer for the Hydrotherm.
Warranty Details
Hydrotherm's 6 year warranty covers all system parts and tank in full, including any labour charges; whereas the Aquatech DYNAMIC/X8 has a 5-year parts warranty, and only 2 years on labor. Note that transporting or storing the unit in a horizontal position will void warranty.
