As for electric heat pump hot water systems specifically, the firm has been manufacturing these since 2010; with over 5 million units sold since.
Haier Group says it has 10 R&D centers, 71 research facilities, 35 industrial parks, 163 factories and a sales network of 230,000 "nodes" globally.
Haier Heat Pumps In Australia
In Australia, Haier makes two different types of heat pump hot water systems available - a split system where the tank and pump units are separate, and all-in-one where they are combined.
Monoblock All-In-One
The Monoblock is offered in two tank sizes:
- HP200M1U1: 196 litres, Depth: 630mm / Height: 1658mm / Width: 600mm / 91kg.
- HP250M1U1: 246 litres, Depth: 630mm / Height: 1951mm / Width: 600mm / 106kg.
Haier says the tanks have triple layer protection, with the inner tank tested to more than 160,000 cycles. The tanks include a 1.5kW backup element for heating in a hurry.
As for the heat pump unit, it can operate within a temperature range of -7°C to 45°C and has an operating noise level of 43dB(A) at one metre, which is quieter than some other brands and the Haier split system. It uses the "natural" refrigerant R290 - which is propane. On the plus side, propane has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) far less than that of other refrigerants. On the minus side, propane is highly flammable.
The Monoblock has a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 4.48.
Split System
Haier's split system is the HP300S2-F7-SET. With the heat pump unit separated from the cylinder, it provides options to place the heat pump outside away from noise sensitive areas and the cylinder outside or inside nearby. The split system is louder during operation than the all-in-one; with a noise level of 52dB(A) at one metre.
The HP300S2-F7-SET has a tank capacity of 270 litres, with a 2.6kW electric element for backup and has the same construction as the all-in-one's tank. The heat pump unit measures 760m x 545 x 123 mm; while the tank is 1694 x 622 mm
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) of this split system is 4.48.
SmartHQ App
Both the Monoblock and split system feature a built in Wi-Fi module, and Haier's "SmartHQ" app allows control of the appliance from anywhere, and switching between five user modes.
- Auto mode
- Eco with Solar PV mode
- Electric mode
- Vacation mode
- Boost mode
