Company Info
The founders of Energie Group started in the solar water heater business nearly 30 years ago with one of the (unnamed) pioneering companies in the field. After several years of research, it introduced a range of heat pump water heaters under the Enviroheat brand, which are produced in China by what it says is the world’s largest (also unnamed) appliance manufacturer. Their heat pumps were first released in Europe, and are now available in Australia.
While Enviroheat is located in Victoria, Energie Group’s head office is located in Malaga, Western Australia and has offices in each Australian state, bar Tasmania.
Enviroheat 200EH1-14 And 250EH1-15
Enviroheat offers all-in-one heat pumps in two capacities - The 200EH1-14 (196 litres / 600 x 629 x 1670 / 91 kg) and the 250EH1-15 (246 litres / 600 x 629 x 1965 mm / 102 kilograms)
Both units have tanks made with vitreous enamel coated steel, with dual sacrificial anodes. While some manufacturers have chosen to use propane as a refrigerant as it has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP), Enviroheat's offerings use R134a - a non-flammable gas at ambient temperatures and atmospheric pressure, but with a much higher GWP.
The units have backup 1500 watt heating elements. Both have automatic timers that allow for maximising solar power utilisation, but also a second timer for an early morning boost if needed to help ensure you don't run out of hot water.
These heat pumps have a COP of 3.9; which is among the lowest of the brands we list and a noise rating of 46dB(A). Controlling the unit is done via a touch screen - there's no Wi-Fi support or app.
For more specifications and estimated pricing of the Enviroheat 200EH1-14 and 250EH1-15, see SQ's heat pump guide.
Warranty Information
The 200EH1-14 and 250EH1-15 have a 5 year parts, 1 year labour warranty for the tank cylinder and compressor. The electrical element, sacrificial anode, PTR valve and ECV have a 1 year parts and labour warranty.
