About Victron
The Netherlands' Victron Energy is best known for its inverters, but it manufactures home EV chargers as well.
Contact Details
Victron's Australian sales email address is [email protected], and the company's Australian website can be found here - but the firm doesn't appear to have a physical Australian office.
Company Information
Established in 1975, Victron started out in the marine market, then moved into automotive, industrial and renewable energy applications - focusing on inverters, battery chargers and other power conversion related equipment. The company then expanded into home EV charging devices around 2022.
Victron EV Charging Station/NS
Victron's EV Charging Station has three-phase (maximum of 22kW) and single-phase (7.3kW) capabilities. It can be controlled directly via a built-in LCD touch screen or the VictronConnect app (which is also used for initial configuration). It can also be fully integrated with and remotely controlled by a Victron Energy GX Device and VRM.
For solar owners within the Victron ecosystem, the charging station can be configured to use surplus solar energy to directly charge a vehicle. Other features include scheduled modes to offer a high degree of flexibility. A manual mode allows configurable output current between 6-32 amps.
The RGB light ring around the charging port can be configured to display different light effects depending on the current charging status. This device measures 377 x 307 x 148 mm, weighs 3kg, and has an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +50 °C.
A variant of the Victron EV Charging Station is the NS series. The NS is technically identical, but has a different case design available in 3 colours and doesn't have the built-in LCD screen. As with the standard version, initial setup, configuration and monitoring can be carried out via VictronConnect via Bluetooth and/or the integrated web interface via a WiFi Access Point or a WiFi LAN.
This is a slightly more compact device measuring 372 x 292 x 122mm, but weighs the same - 3 kilograms.
Warranty Information
Victron Energy offers 5 years standard warranty on its EV chargers, which is upgradeable to 10 years by paying an additional 10% of the product's cost.
