Public EV Charger Locations – Australia
Range anxiety begone! The number of public EV charger locations across Australia is rapidly growing. Find out where to top up your electric vehicle on your daily journeys or plan a big road trip using this very handy charging station locator map.
Click/tap on the markers for location, ports, contacts and (where available) costs involved for each site, along with additional valuable information about the station. You can also search for a station by typing in its name or a location in the search box at the top of the map.
Notes: The map may take a few seconds to load. The orange markers indicate DC fast charger or Supercharger locations.
As you can see from the map above, a bit of planning will help ensure you’re never caught out with a flat EV battery! Note that this map is updated in real-time as more stations are submitted.
Understanding EV Charging
Level 1, 2 and 3 charging, fast-chargers, CCS connectors – a bunch of jargon has sprung up around EV use. Are you considering an electric vehicle purchase or are you an EV owner looking to fill in some gaps in knowledge? My EV Charging 101 Guide explains it all in plain English.

Invest In A Dedicated Home EV Charger
Do you have an electric vehicle and but no dedicated charger at home? No doubt you’ve come to understand the limitations of Level 1 “trickle” charging. Perhaps you’re using public stations to compensate more often than you’d like?
The Level 1 cable and power brick that connects to a standard powerpoint is fine if you’re not in a rush. But many EV owners find they want more power for faster charging and to minimise use of Level 3 public fast-charging stations in particular. Aside from cost, using these stations puts additional wear and tear on a battery.
The good news: there are now several reasonably priced Level 2 charging units available in Australia you can install at your home that can charge your electric car’s battery much faster than Level 1 – while taking good care of it. Check them out, along with estimated pricing, on my EV charger comparison table.
