Finn's Energizer Batteries Review & Verdict
Finn Peacock has been a Chartered Electrical Engineer since 1998, and is ex-CSIRO
While the Energizer brand is really well-known and has been involved in manufacturing regular batteries since Adam was a pup, as far as I can tell, Energizer Holdings, Inc licences its brand name for a fee when it comes to home battery storage, and they are not manufactured or directly managed by Energizer. Feedback so far on Energizer-branded home batteries has been a bit hit and miss – so I'll give it a miss too.
Energizer Batteries: Pros & Cons

About Energizer
Most Australians would be familiar with Energizer batteries for use in small devices. But the company has dipped its toes into the home battery scene as well.

Company Info
The Energizer brand has its roots way at the start of the 20th century as the Eveready Battery Company. A name change occurred in 1980 when the Eveready Alkaline Power Cell was renamed to Energizer. In 2020, Energizer unveiled its first solar battery, the HomePower.
Energizer Home Batteries
Energizer's HomePower system (HP-6M) appears to have been superseded by the EnergiStack (PS). While the HomePower isn't featured on the Energizer site any more, the Clean Energy Council still lists it as an approved energy storage solution in Australia. There may be some stock still kicking around, so we'll include some details on that as well.
HomePower (HP-6M)
The HomePower system is an AC-coupled all-in-one home energy storage solution suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.
The Energizer Homepower isn't a big system in terms of capacity (6.1kWh), but the modular design enables the addition of up to three sub-units for a maximum total capacity of 24.4 kWh. Rather than being stacked on top of one another, the Sub units are added to the side of the system.
The unit has a power output capacity of 3.6kW. According to Energizer, the round-trip efficiency of the HomePower is 94%. The HomePower is backup-ready to some degree and is Virtual Power Plant ready.
More specifications and other information about the Energizer Homepower is available on the SolarQuotes battery comparison table.
EnergiStack (PS2900H)
Manufactured in China, the EnergiStack is Energizer's current home battery. It's a modular solution; allowing up to six additional 2.59kWh (usable capacity) sub-units per stack for a maximum storage capacity of 18.14kWh. Up to 10 EnergiStacks can be linked together for even greater capacity.
The EnergiStack is based on lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) prismatic cells and has an operating temperature range of charge: 0 to 55°C and discharge: -10 to 55°C. Depending on the capacity chosen, the EnergiStack has dimensions of 570 x 350 x 380mm, up to 570 x 950 x 380 and weighs 71kg to 230kg.
The EnergiStack is compatible with Energizer Solar Force Hybrid Inverters.
Warranty Information
The HomePower is accompanied by a 10-year, 10,000 cycle warranty in normal use cases. Assuming all warranty conditions are met, Energizer guarantees 80% capacity at 10 years.
The EnergiStack has a 10 year warranty stipulating it will retain at least 70% of nominal energy or usable energy for either 10 years after the date of the initial installation or for a minimum energy throughput of 12.15MWh per 2.88kWh (nominal capacity) sub-unit.
For the EnergiStack, note that an annual inspection is required from the 6th year after battery’s commissioning date. This must be carried out by an Energizer Solar authorized and suitably qualified technician, and evidence of the inspection must be kept. Failure to have these inspections carried out may invalidate any warranty claims. Additionally, if battery isn't registered on the Energizer Solar website before the end of 3 years from the date of manufacture, the company reserves the right to reduce the warranty period to 5 years.
We don't have a clear read on how these batteries have been faring in Australia. If you're an Energizer Homepower or EnergiStack owner, please leave a review and let us (and other Australians) know your opinion of how your system has been performing.

In the past 15 months I have (a) imported 220kwh from the grid (b) Exported 3520kwh to the grid and (c) Consumed 1,240kwh from the battery. and consumed 1,320kwh straight from solar.
Having the excellent App I am able to see what appliances are using what power in real time and adjust my usage accordingly.
There is a little bit of rust on some of the screws around the battery trim but nothing substantial.
19 March 2024
After 2 months of owning the system we have extensive rust happening on the panels and screws and reported this as a warranty issue in January 2024. We were told that a batch of non-marine-grade steel was used. We were told that either the panels or the whole unit would be replaced. As of March 2024 no word from Energizer or the supplier about when this will happen. I am sending monthly images about the increasing rust to the supplier.
It has 4 side lights that 'pulse' and barely seen during daylight but at night they are very visible and I wish we could turn the lights off on it as it slowly flashes all night and is annoying the neighbours and us.
The app is crap. Where can you see what level of discharge the battery has done during a cycle? I would like to know what it is getting down to each night.
When I go through the app Settings and then Energy rate and enter the information from my elect. provider it always says ‘invalid response’ when I save. It does not indicate what field is the invalid response. Selecting the i icon gives no information. If there is an error message then it needs to indicate what is in error! I discovered later when trying to enter the information via my desktop that it only requires 2 decimal places. The app doesn't tell you this!
The power outage notification needs to have an option of a mobile number for notification. If the power is out my modem doesn’t work (it is on a different power run) so it will not transmit the outage notification. Usually I discover there is an outage because I lose internet on my TV. Having it send a message to a designated phone makes sense.
On my tablet I turn the display to landscape so it takes up the whole screen but some sections still display in small portrait phone-size mode. When I next open the app it is back to phone size. The app is not scaling automatically for tablets it seems and does not remember the previous view settings.
I have many questions about what the app is telling me but cannot find a forum to ask them. On Facebook Energizer have a page but it is static, I have sent them questions via Messenger instead but no response other than saying there is no forum.
And my last bugbear is the black background on the app and the documentation and the website specs. Printing is a nightmare for the docs, luckily my supplier printed them out and posted to me when I asked if there was a printer-friendly, visually-friendly mode. The app needs to be able to have a white background mode. It is not visually inclusive.
