Company Info

The Dyness journey into manufacturing energy storage for residential purposes began in 2017. Its factories are located in Taizhou and Yangzhou. The firm says it has more than 200 employees and a R&D team of 100+ staff, and claims more than 120,000 of its residential energy storage systems have been installed worldwide.

Dyness Batteries Available In Australia

Dyness has several battery lines available in Australia and approved by the Clean Energy Council - the PowerBox Pro, PowerCube, PowerDepot and rack mounted modules among them.

Dyness PowerBox Pro

The follow-up to the Dyness flagship product PowerBox is the PowerBox Pro, a 10.24kWh (nominal capacity) battery with maximum output power of 5.12kW. Measuring 555 x 210 x 928mm, the Powerbox Pro weighs 103 kilograms and up to 5 units can be installed in parallel. This system offers IP65 protection for outdoor installation.

B3 And B4850 Modules

These are rack mounted modules in two flavours. The B3 are a 3.6kWh (nominal) LiFePO4 based module weighing 32.5kg and measuring 480 x 405 x 132mm. These have a charging temperature range of 0 -50C and discharging range of -10 - 50C. Up to 40 units can be connected in parallel.

The B4850 has 2.4kWh nominal capacity, measures 480 x 360 x 90mm and weighs 22 kilograms. Most of the B4850's other specifications are the same as the B3.

Dyness PowerCube

There are a couple of variants of the PowerCube - one using B3 modules and the other, B4850's.

The IP65-rated PowerCube B3 is expandable from 7.2kWh to 21.6kWh (nominal capacity, 90% depth of discharge) and has a maximum discharge power ranging from 7.2kW to 10.8kW. However, elsewhere on the Dyness site, it states maximum capacity of a single stack can be 32.4kWh (9 modules). Up to six Powercube B3 stacks can be connected in parallel. Dyness says it can be used in both off-grid and hybrid scenarios.

The PowerCube B4850 seems to have all the features of the B3, but a different capacity range - from 12kWh (nominal) to 21.6kWh.

Dyness PowerDepot H5B

PowerDepot H5B is a low-voltage battery with just 5.12kWh nominal capacity (90% DoD), but can be scaled to 25.6 kWh (5 units in parallel). It has a power output of 3.84kW, which is also rather low. It measures 574 x 228 x 600 mm and weighs 55kg; again, IP65-rated for outdoor installation.

According to Dyness, all of the above are compatible with a wide range of inverters including SMA, Victron, GoodWe, Solis and Sungrow.

Warranty Information

At the time of updating this page (late 2024), the Dyness website wasn't particularly forthcoming with warranty documentation. The warranty entries on the downloads page didn't link to anything. But from what we can make out, the length of warranty is 10 years, with a minimum 70% of capacity remaining at the end of year 10; or for whatever throughput is specified.
