Company Info

Aobo Environment Technology, or Aobo New Energy Power (Wuxi) Co., Ltd is known in Australia as Aobet.

The company started out in 1999 producing power inverters and then expanded into low voltage energy storage systems. In 2003, it established production lines for the manufacture of LiFePO4 battery packs. The firm originally had a manufacturing facility in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, then shifted it to Wuhan in 2018.

Aoboet Batteries In Australia

One of the products available here was (and perhaps still is) the Aoboet UHOME NCA. This was a 6.8kWh nominal storage battery system with 6kWh usable capacity and a charge/discharge power rating of 3kW.

It uses Panasonic manufactured cells and a battery management system developed by Aobo. The "NCA" stands for Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide (LiNiCoAlO2), the chemistry of the cells used in the battery.

Measuring 525 x 675 x 238 mm, this battery weighs 68 kg and has an operating temperature range of -10C to 45C.

The Aoboet UHOME NCA energy storage solution is not included on the Clean Energy Council's approved batteries list as at early 2025, meaning it won't be eligible for some state incentive programs.

Warranty Details

The UHOME NCA is accompanied by what appears to be a 10 year product warranty, although this is noted as "5 years for free + 5 years appropriate transport costs"; whatever that means. Aobet also guarantees the nominal capacity of the battery will be at least 60% either 10 years after the date of the initial installation or after throughput of 21MWh.

If you're having issues with your Aoboet system, your best bet is to contact the party who installed it as they also have warranty responsibility. You could also try contacting the importer mentioned above, then Aobo themselves.

As to how the UHOME NCA has been performing in real world conditions, we'll leave that to those Australians who own one. If you'd like to contribute your review, click the button above.
